Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.

its so sad its true :( (screw u jj trek)
A bit of myself died when i saw "star trek"
SPACE BLOOD, JIM
I BROUGHT YOU BACK TO LIFE WITH SPACE BLOOD
Odd one out. I liked JJ trek. I also liked TNG, TOS, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise. F*ck me right?
Get him lads! *stuffs airaviper in a bag and drowns him in the lake*
well that escalated quickly.
Hey I agree, I liked them too. Didn't think they were all that bad.
They were good movies, just not good STAR TREK movies
I don't see everyone's problem with JJ Trek... both the films were good, acting was good and the special effects are just how I like them :P all it's missing is ROMULANS!! The only actual problem I have is Klingon related, ie: hate the new look, and they spelt Qos'nos, Kronos in the film -.- At least be grateful there is some attention given to Star Trek! A lot of the older "nerd friendly" programs are just stuck on repeat on crap channels that nobody watches!
That is a good point, its better that than a dead franchise, but it really is just a sexed up action movie now because that's the safest way to go with fat, lazy popcorn guzzling american audiences.
Let's face it. A traditional ST movie just wouldn't sell for today's audiences.
For trekkers yes it would, there are still thinkers out there but if you want to rake in £200 million you need to appeal to the braindead too
No the Problem is: If you want to make ANY Money you have to appeal to a broader Range (and yes even the Braindead)of Audience instead of just ST Fans... we alone don't make enough money and even then most of us still would have hated a new movie simply because it wasn't "what nostalgia made out of my memory of previous movies". That's the reason ST NEEDED a Reboot... those 40 Years of History was simply to much and made the "Prime Audience" too picky and too narrowminded.
that and a little too much lens flare. I personally felt that many of the crew members deviated too much from their accepted personality type. Kirk and Spock particularly didn't do it for me in the JJ reboot. I have a huge liking for Karl Urban as he made a point of watching the old trek and tried to incorporate some of Mcoy's idiosyncrasies into his acting style, making it both unique and nostalgic. Kirk came across as hugely petulant, and Spock was just all foobar, from his odd relationship dynamics, to his bizarre reaction to Kirk's death in spite of the fact that they hadn't known one another for long enough to be close, and didn't have a relationship dynamic that would have produced that reaction even in a human, let alone a Vulcan.
All of the pew pew was nice though.
The new Trek movies have their strong points, but to the original Trek fanbase... it's horrible.
Here is my (personal) problem with JJ Trek.
It's good as a sci-fi movie, but horrendous as a Star Trek franchise.
The same reason why I disliked the Battlestar Galactica remake and SGU.
Both were good sci-fi series, but neither was true to it's origin.

For you people who want nostalgia, there is Netflix.
anyone heard of there is a probable tng relaunch (of course in jj version)anyway,so sad....
Are you talking about the "Capt. Worf" show?
As I pointed out, I am an original Star Trek fan and yet I loved the new films despite certain aspects lacking in areas... I loved them purely because they're Star Trek :P
I see it the same way you do and agree 100%. Kinda wished more Trek fans seen it that way.
