S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - PreSky is a Total Conversion mod for Clear Sky, set before the events in Clear Sky begin. Its goal is to provide a fresh new game experience from the point of a regular Stalker within the Zone. This basically means that the mod has complete and total freeplay from the start. PreSky combines some of the best elements and ideas from all 3 games in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series to produce a brand new gameplay experience within the Zone, with the sole intention of creating a more realistic Stalker experience that aims to make the player believe they are a Stalker. There is no main storyline progression to unlock new areas, or new items for the player. The Zone goes on living regardless of the actions of the player, with a virtually unrestricted alife that makes the Zone seem even more alive and real than it did before. The only storyline is the one you create for yourself.

Yeah.I'm probably gonna shelve it. The single HQ build I did for v0.4.5 was a complete and utter waste of time. 18 hours for a draft quality build, didn't use the shaders it was supposed to use, didn't add in dx10 mode like it should have, and I no longer have the time to redo it for quite a while (don't know when). Apart from adding the new levels, there is nothing else for me to do with this mod.

Well, I can compile, I just don't have the time to do constant rebuilds, and for some reason dx10 doesn't work with Clear Sky at all, so I can't test it in dx10.
Also, Darkscape is a draft level, I have to correctly set all shader combination for each object before it can work ingame properly, which once again takes time.
Right now, I just don't have the time to work on the level port at all.

Very nice, I was wondering how you could never enter the Rostok area in Clear Sky, it was obviously already there...cheap excuse to say it's full of anomalies, at least let us take a look I say. Very glad you will bring it back.
As a question, do you think a mod like ClearSky Complete/Reloaded that enhances the graphics will be compatible?

Most texture packs can be; my simple trick is to copy any folders which do not already exist (which may add textures that will never ever be used, too, sadly), and then use something to compare the ones that do exist.

I use IrfanView with a DDS plug-in to view the DDS texture images so I can compare the textures I'm importing between mods. IrfanView and its nifty DDS plug-in are both free.

Thought I'd share for anyone who may be interested.

I use Paint.NET, which is also free and comes with integrated .dds support.
I've had to put the level port on hold indefinately, since for some stupid reason the game doesn't want to run in dx10 mode, despite my computer supporting dx10 (I have 11 installed, but my GPU can only handle 10) and always crashes saying it cannot find dx10 shader options, despite the rest of my games working in dx10. That and the amount of time required to compile the level on medium settings so it looks reasonably good would take 3-4 days, which is time that right now I cannot spare, unless I had another computer to use for this task.
I want to test my compiled levels in dx10, so I know they preform correctly, and aren't screwed up. The size of the levels means this isn't something I can make a testers version of, and then upload to test - on my internet, it'll soon be cheaper to by a new and better PC in the long run.

Description

Rostok Bar, converted to work within the Clear Sky SDK. Currently in the process to try and compile Darkscape to work fully within Clear Sky - including DX10 mode.
Sorry for all the grey, not all textures have been added yet.
