ScoreDoom makes playing & re-playing Doom wads more fun in both single-player and multi-player co-op, without changing the standard Doom game-play and feel. ScoreDoom is built from the modern sourceports GZDoom & Skulltag, so it has modern OpenGL graphics and client-server architecture. It adds an arcade style scoring system to Doom. Points are primarily scored when shooting/killing monsters, achieving map objectives, finding secrets & map items in the quickest time possible. Points are also scored in many other fun ways, like chaining kills together in a short time, causing extreme (gibbage) deaths, heck, even blowing up barrels gives points etc. There are high score tables you can set locally, or take on other players across the world on the global online high score leader-boards! Else take on other players around the world directly in competitive online co-op mode! ScoreDoom also has an Add-on Pack that adds up to 300 new Doom-like enemies, many new power-ups and other cool stuff.

Description

Final Release of Scoredoom. Version 3.0r5. Fixed a bug in the add-on and bonus packs that caused a crash. Added optional hi res textures and sprites that can be used as well.

What's the difference between this version and the ST version?

You know what, this is actually a pretty decent mod. Lots of variety without feeling like a complete mashup of r667 assets, plays really well too. Kinda fun trying to get the high score lol, great job on this:)

What I did was copy the Iwads, DOOM.wad Doom2.wad, TNT and Plutonia.wad, into the same folder as Scoredoom and then clicked on the gzdoom application it came with. Haven't yet tried loading the files in ZDL to see if it'll work with map packs but I'm sure it will.

About ZDL: You have to use the Edited version of GZDoom it comes with as the source port, and use the iwads in the zip file it comes with if you want to play with something other than official iwads.

Hey, thanks, glad you like it. A lot of work went into gameplay balance when using the add-on & bonus packs with custom monsters. The 'docs' directory in the archive gets into how you can customize the content easily to your liking (see quickstart.html).
I just uploaded a newer release to moddb.. gzscoredoom3 0r5b, that fixed some issues when using the add-on and bonus packs. Namely the player is no longer semi-transparent initially, and the ammo drops during Boss Rushes are better now.

The hi scores and scoring is the main focus of this mod, but yeah, the focus on massive amounts of easily configurable extra enemies also is a big part of the mod. The engine supports configuration through simple ini files, and the extra monsters will remain constant every play which makes hi scores make sense. You can turn this off so that the extra monster replacements are random every play as well. Finally, its a lot of fun in competitive co-op as well.

ScoredoomST is different, in that is built with the the original skulltag source code, and is focused more on internet competitive co-op. I recommend though, if you have 2-4 people you can coordinate with, if you want to play with add-on and bonus pack monsters, with wads like hell revealed, regular scoredoom co-op competitive multiplayer is more stable.

This is compatible with windows, not linux. It should run fine in windows 10, 7 and XP. Saying that, try playing about the windows compatibilty mode for the exe if you are experiencing problems, like try XP.
