Aquaria: Sacrifice is an extensive, narrative driven prequel campaign featuring prominent characters such as Prince Drask, Mia, Naija, and The Creator. Extending beyond the current Aquaria universe will be the introduction of a number of new characters. One of these is Princess Elena, wife of Prince Drask, which will serve as the new protagonist. Sacrifice features a little over 20 new maps, 10+ short cut scenes, and 2 vendors. Unlike Aquaria the story will be told through a classic adventure dialogue system. The name of the mod, Sacrifice, is related to the individual sacrifices made by each character.

I put together a video on YouTube that shows the new additions (below) but if for some reason you like to read please continue. It should be noted that the world map shown in the video was a very early version that was much improved during beta.

World Map courtesy of some masterful coding work by Edwards with modifications by Yogoda. This was by far the most requested addition and I'm glad to finally include it.

New Level (Naija, Fedor, and Elena go on an Adventure) accessed from the Veil allows Elena (avatar) to ride and control an ancient turtle in exploring this demented map.

Arena System (located in new map) features hardcore combat maps, navigation puzzles (still in development), and a boss rush mode of bosses from the original game. Old Fred keeps track of your best times and more maps are planned to be released in the future.

Other Various Changes (check out the v1.05 patch notes for a complete list of recent changes)
- more hints have been added
- a save crystal has been added near the beginning of the Abyss
- new modular dialogue tree code

How do I skip the intro? If I can't, is that something that can be patched in?

I just got Aquaria in the Humble Bundle, and will give it a shot!
This mod was actually the main reason for getting it, it made the game look really interesting. Looking forward to playing it.

Very beautiful. @DOLBYdigital. DON'T get it on Steam if you have a choice - Alec and Derek get the most money from a purchase on their website.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Aquaria is easily one of the most under looked and under rated indie titles I have played in a long time and seeing some quality MOD content come out makes me even more happy. Thanks for extending this great game!

I will download and give my impressions after playing through this one. I think I read about this on Aquaria's forum, I'll let you know what I think about the story and dialogue.

* Aquaria is available on STEAM now for a very cheap price, strongly suggest the game if you like great stories a mix between metroid, geometry wars, and ecco the dolphin :)

Ah, a mod to add to my collection (which is very slim for Aquaria :P)! It's nice to see a nicely worked-on mod like this for such an under-rated game :) Your work as not gone unnoticed! ;)
