Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
The new Supply Stash which no longer works like a tunnel network but has some other useful features instead.
Rather than functioning like a tunnel it can provide shelter to 6 workers protecting them from harms way and also healing them while inside.
I am actually suprised at how unattractive the GLA structures feel after their tunnel overhaul, so much so I find myself missing the old aesthetic. This is a welcome change imo, gives the GLA a bit of their original flavour back.
Just my opinion.
here, here!
Aren't workers already rather expendable anyway? Don't get me wrong this new aesthetic looks great but its purpose of holding workers in for protection comes into question.
Expandability doesn't equal to infinite. For my part I want workers ready to rebuild in the event of superweapon attack and I definitely want survivors to resume working at once should any rusher or stealth unit picks them off.
Actually this is perfect!!! since in my experience in multiplayer, I tend to use the supply stash "tunnel" only for hiding workers, rarely do I pop units out, usually I have something else defending it. But that ONE time I decide to hide my workers.. but I got a tunnel full of units.. I say this is Genius!!
can only workers take shelter?
Nice building like the idea of garrison anyone reckon the building could have the ability "take cover"! where calls nearby workers into the supply stash build and showing a small area of effect where depending if a worker is standing inside it or not will call them in. just an idea hotkey the ability once you click on the structure for macro
