Aren't most of the ship factories more of a rectangle? You know because that's what most ships look like. Personally I think this looks like a covered hot tub buuut with textures and such it might look good.

will the ship stick out during construction?
how will it be placed on the water?

not bad, but it is better to see the version with textures.

the platforms are needed for the factory addons and maybe a door
but anyway it's a great job

I think it would be better to remove the dome but keep the rest. It a really good design.
