The uprising that started in City 17 is starting to fall apart. The rebels are coming to realize that their efforts are in vain. However, rumors have spread throughout the city that there exists a weapon with capabilities far beyond comprehension that, if found, can change the tide of the battle, and maybe the war. Only a select few know of its location. You are sent alone into the middle of the New Mexican desert to a long-forgotten and abandoned facility to procure and activate this weapon. In order to save humanity from the iron grip of the Combine war machine, you must Return to Black Mesa.

Whoa I just saw this mod's title and loved the whole plot. Go back to the nuked black mesa. if this mod is dead I think someone should try to bring it back to life. so if it's not dead good. but if it is I want to contact the creator and just try to get up and running. I know it sounds stupid but I'm tired of hearing great plots and just have the mod die. I also wish that it could be detailed with new stuff.

Hey people, I think the whole point of this mod is to show that what is left of black mesa is hazardous, but that the weapon there is still intact (maybe from behind blast doors, there were plenty of them in half-life 1), and can help save the war against the ongoing combine threat.
If you read the pic captions, the screens are the areas that need to be REDONE, not are done. And look at the background behind its ModDB title, it looks like a nuked facility.

It was obvious the screen shots are Goldsrc games and not Source engine screen shots. Also its hard to tell if the background was made using stock city 17 textures or a picture of a damaged building.

i think the whole facility was blown up by gman...with a nuclear bomb device , so there can't be any facility anymore...just ashes and pure radiation

There was a white flash indicating that the bomb did go off. So to be accurate most areas should looked like their nuked and be filled with radiation.
