Arena Y4 is probably the fastest map I've ever turned around. So what if I spent two years on its basis? So what if it is brutally streamlined and hideously imbalanced? Get yo ass in gear and get to playing it!
If you're not into playing online, the bots will see you right as they fill the empty slots. And if like what you see in this little snippet, well, there's a great big singleplayer adventure right here.
A little whisper about R02 to keep you going -- along with all its standard additions, it looks like it's going to have music too! But don't let that stop you enjoying R01d, because R02 is still a fairly long way off. When It's Ready, Soon, etc etc etc.

RDZ Industries: Project Y4 R01d. For further details and play instructions, please see ProjectY4OperationalHandbook.pdf, contained within the zip.
Are the textures simplified on the models because...
(1) To keep the filesize down (8mb I think is the maximum for a map?)
(2) Placeholders
(3) Chosen Art Style
(4) Your not very good yet at it
Some dents/scratches and darker areas would be nice to look at.
(3)
The texture swapping paint shop system relies on the fact that all models use the same UV unwrap, so adding too much detail to any individual panel would show up far worse than the straight-out-of-the-factory clean look.
Oh I didn't know the model's colors could be swapped in game. (If I'm interpreting that correctly.)
Could you add a specular map with the dents/scratches? They would use the same UV unwrap I'm sure.
Warcraft III does not support any of that. It *is* possible to use alternate sets of UV coordinates for each geoset (e.g. so each model could wrap to the same scratches overlay tile without disrupting its use of the base texture layout), but it's a monumental pain in the arse to set up and I don't think it would be worth the effort.
THIS IS AWESOME! But .. can is it possible to add multiplayer? o.O
No, it is not possible. This is a singleplayer adventure, and it's been designed and built that way right from the beginning.
Are you making this alone? It looks very neat!
I am indeed. Though I fully intend to bring other people on nearer the end, to handle things like music... And I will certainly run out of voices after two characters.
I'm really impressed by your skillset. ;-)
You model, texture, animate, program, and write. Is that correct?
Keep up the good work!
What little story there is does not contain any convenient early-game cliffhangers. You'll just have to wait for the final. ;)
