Recently, I have been doing retrospective examinations of my Warcraft III maps. It seems to be poetic justice that, in doing so, I finally encountered a number of elusive bugs that I had never been able to reproduce before -- including Project Y4's game-ending bomb drop crash bug.
Debugging is a difficult thing at the best of times, and it's nigh impossible if you can't even get the error to occur. Needless to say, with cast-iron reproduction steps for this bug I was able to finally kill it dead. Job done.
But a release for one bug fix is no release at all, so I added in a few other tweaks and twiddles too...
Most important of all, I've added music. A kind musician called Merlijn Nash volunteered to work with me when development of Project Y4 was in full swing, around various committments such as, oh, you know, releasing his debut album. Unfortunately, by the time we had completed the main theme... Well, I'd reached the end of the line with the project.
So since this release was absolutely necessary, I figured it would be rude to let his hard work go to waste. Now you can enjoy a sumptuously atmospheric theme as you storm the facility -- thank you, Merlijn!
