RCOM or 'Realistic' 'Combat' 'Overhaul' 'Mod' is a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat that aims to bring in a greater emphasis on realism. After years of no development, I have returned to release a new version of RCOM as an addom to "Call of Chernobyl"

No using medkits currently, although it is possible but I'm not sure if I'll script it or not.

Currently once you're dying you're strait up FUBAR and if you aren't hit in the head, then you can try taking out as many NPC's as you can before finally dropping dead.

Aren't you afraid that combat will become too hard?

Keeping your allies alive in the Pripyat tunnel is going to be impossible!

It won't be impossible. It matters on how skilled you are and if Mac increases their AI maybe Zulu won't shoot them with his RP-74...

Combat is still about the same difficulty wise, other than some fixes to make unique NPC's not die as easily. What you're probably seeing is how after hp hits 0, in one of the deaths shown I am still able to fire for a few seconds before I start to drop to the ground. I'm dead at that point anyway, so it doesn't matter if combat is hard.

I like the motion effects. Sickened me a bit which I find quite suiting.
The first one gives you a good view of your rifle being dropped with great force. Makes me think of the valuable items that will be looted from my corpse. Good work

It's coming together nicely! This looks great, the dying is so much more cooler!

These features are part of the next version of the mod. Thanks for reporting the ammo problem, however it has already been fixed.

Is this the audio that will be used in game or just for testing/show features purposes? Might just be the video but the gunfire sounds too... gamish and unrealistic.

It's similar to what will be used in game, which will be a newer version of Darius6's Sound Overhaul mod.

Real guns don't have have a ton of bass boost and volume compression on them. That's just what everyone gets used to because it helps give the impression of loudness and power while keeping the volume low and intrusive. Sorry, but its unlikely something else will be used for weapon sounds.

Description

A video with some new features. Instead of listing them, I'll just let you watch and see what you can notice. The teaser's focus on the new feature is pretty obvious though.

Note: Forgive the ugly debug text that occasionally shows on the HUD. :)
