This mod looks to bring some semblance of realism to Ubisoft's arcade FPS. With completely rebalanced weapon damage values and characteristics, R6V2 Rebalanced requires careful use of tactics and equipment to complete the mission.

Changes:
- Completely new weapon damage and recoil values scaled to realistic values
- Modified zoom on ACOG and scopes
- Correct magazine sizes for SCAR-H, G3, Glock 18, Scorpion, M468, PSG1, SR-25, Raging Bull, P99
- Rifle scope can now be put on rifles
- Decreased blindfire accuracy
- Increased flashbang capacity
- Some weapons can now have previously unavailable attachments
- Changed weapon sound radius for different actions
- Decreased shotgun spread
- Increased penetration for pistol/submachinegun rounds, decreased for rifles (see bottom for explanation)
- Fire rates on all weapons at more realistic values
- Fire modes on weapons correct

Note: The penetration values were changed due to past a certain velocity, bullets fragment when hitting certain cover.

Release and updates

News

For all those people still playing Vegas 2, we've got a present.

Balance has been completely reworked with realism in mind, more changes are being considered as of now. Version 1.0 is up and ready to go.
We'll be updating the page as new features are added, feel free to leave comments with suggestions and we'll consider adding them to the mod. We're limited on what we can actually change, but as we modify the files we might stumble across something new to change. We'll also post more images showing some of the notable changes.

Future changes are more focused on modifying AI behavior and things of that nature.

Work/updates will resume on Sunday evening.

I like the mod, been tinkering with it most of the morning. Couple of points I'd like to address:
-The M468 magazine should be 28 rounds instead of 25, that's the normal capacity of 6.8 SPC magazines.
-If anyone could find a way to fix the ACOG scope mounting on the UMP45, it would be a beast of an SMG ingame.
-If you're still wondering, YES, THIS MOD *DOES* WORK IN STEAM! Dig in your directories to "(insert drive letter here):\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\rainbow six vegas 2\" then follow the readme the rest of the way.

Happy gaming, shooters! :)

unfortunately it seems that while the zoom does work when you put rifle scopes on pistols, the model for the scope does not show up, making it much less cool. I don't think I'll be implementing this feature as it is now, maybe if I find some way to access the physical mount point on the model I may I can make it work.

I will look into this, although generally this isn't practiced too much in combat loadouts. I'll let you know when I get around to it.

In the DefaultWeaponsConfig file, there is a section for each weapon. Near the bottom of each section, there are some lines with the tag m_eAttachmentOption1= ;these lines control which attachments are available for each weapon. You can cross reference these to other weapons with the attachments you want. The red dot does work on sniper rifles, we experimented with some with odd results. It seems that the default view alignment for the "looking down the sights view" is already set for sniper rifles, optimized for the sniper scopes. Therefore some of the values of those numbers would have to be changed. If you want these changes to be made, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
