At last, Portal: Google Translate Edition has arrived! Now the halls of Aperture are blissfully filled with even more confusion and chaos than they were before.
Installation: Put the "Portal GTE" folder into your steamapps/common/Portal/portal/custom directory.
(If you do not have a "custom" folder, make a folder and name it "custom") Be sure to enable subtitles! From the main menu, click "They have no options," then under the "Audio Dio Dio Dio Dio Dio" tab, go to "Label (Enable this)" and click "ENABLE THIS," then cllck "apply". I also highly recommend playing on Developer Commentary mode for 66 additional voice lines. If you do not have the game beaten already, simply enable sv_cheats and type "commentary 1" in console when you've started a level.
Uninstallation: Simply delete "Portal: GTE" from your custom folder.

It doesn't seem to be working for me. I put the "Portal GTE" folder on the "Portal/portal/custom" folder, opened Portal like normal and it shows the game normally, not the Google Translated version. What puzzles me the most is the fact that Portal *did* make a "soundcache" of the mod, but won't actually use the mod. Am I missing something?
That's strange... it seems to work for everyone else, and it looks like you did everything right. All I can suggest is making sure everything is in the right order (e.g. make sure Portal GTE wasn't just unpacked into the custom folder). Really sorry I can't be more help!
I actually got it to work after packing the mod into a .vpk file, but the subtitles didn't really work so I had to replace the actual subtitles with the Google Translated ones. Weird.

Please make a version that functions like a sourcemod that shows in the list. I have no problem with manually having to remove and add the file to the "Custom" folder but the thing is that this mod just does not work in the custom folder for me. So, please make a version that is shown in the library and hopefully works for me.

This only works in English. A Russian version has also been made by another user: Moddb.com
