Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
An unusual ship design that uses the most unlikely weapon system, the Mortar Corvette is the Warlord Doctrine's anti-capship corvette. Unlike most capital ship killers the Mortar Corvette does not rely on heavy weapons to destroy the largest ships in existence.
Instead it uses a rather small explosive charge and relies on simply pummeling its targets with so many projectiles that its armor simply can't survive the physical stress. These projectiles are fairly stupid and generally not very fast. However they can be fired at extremely long ranges and in most cases they will hit a big target hanging out in space.
This makes the Mortar Corvette an extremely usefuly support weapon, capable of supporting any Warlord Doctrine fleet with long range firepower from a small chassis.
And now to what you're all wondering. Wait, what is the Warlord Doctrine? Well, the Raider Doctrine for the Vaygr got replaced. The Warlord Doctrine now uses many of their ships plus a few new ones. In general the two Vaygr factions work differently now.
