Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

It is said the AI race that calls itself the Keepers are immortal. However we, the proud warriors of Kadesh, say otherwise! The keepers are no less mortal than we are.

They may be heartless machines but they are mortal! It is our duty - our calling - to ensure they do not go unpunished for defying the garden!

We are beset on all sides by heretics, liars and non-believers. We will show them the light of Kadesh! We will show them we are not to be ignored! We will show them this is OUR galaxy!

Leave none alive, show no mercy for they would show us none! Kadesh demands vengence! You, the Chosen of the Great One, it is your calling to carry out this will! Burn them! Purge them! Show them what it means to desecrate the garden!

Well, in earlier version of Path to Victory capital ships were insanely fast and really made fighters work hard to keep up. This has not changed. However the speed difference between the classes has been lessened meaning that capital ships are strategic weapons which can achieve great speeds but require some time to run up their engines while fighters and corvettes are tactical weapons that can quickly adapt and stop capital ships from maneuvering in the first place.

In a nutshell:

Fighters: Better on short distances
Captial Ships: Better on long distances

Furthermore there is some variation between races in terms of speed. For example the Kadeshi and Keepers have no need for super fast ships. However the Raiders that rely heavily on hit and run tactics tend to fly faster ships.
