This is a fantastic little set-piece marred only by a freaky lack of lip synching. I understand that you might have made the mod on Vista or 7, but surely there's an XP machine somewhere? I'd go so far as to lip synch manually rather than ship without any. Enabling voice duck at the same time would have eliminated the need for captions, too.

Niggles, however. The main event(s) are jawdropping!

Thanks. But yes, doing lip synch would have taken forever. As a professionaly trained animator, it was something I knew if I did it I would labor over it for a while and in the end wouldn't be necessary as this is first and foremost a portfolio piece for level design. If I could have automatically generated them I would.

Also, I have no idea what voice duck is.

Taking your point into consideration, I'll try to make this clear upfront for other people who play or view this mod.

Wow Varsity, I mean Picky Mc Picks :) It's a great portfolio piece. Clearly you have a great since of timing no doubt from being an animator. As well as designing the intensity to gradually build without feeling forced. Superb sir and actually the voice acting was pretty damn good. Screw the lip sync :)

Voice duck is a part of lip synching. It causes other sounds to dip when a character speaks that .wav file, guaranteeing audibility. :)

Even when i´m aware of all the work and time that these kind of projects need to be invested. This isn´t a good mod. Alyx doesn´t move her lips when talking and her voice is incomprehensible. The first two puzzles (and all the ones i´ve gone through, because i quited after dying ten times with alyx telling me ¨gordon do something¨) are idiotic. Plugs can´t be connected if you throw them from some distance, that doesn´t make any sense neither in a mario game. And then, well i will never figure out what i was supposed to do about that chopper, there next to the two horse statues... What is a shame, is that i saw some really good looking screenshots before downloading but i will never be able to apreciate them in-game due to the imposible puzzle ****.

I've already uploaded a new release of the mod in response to people who were finding it hard to get through the puzzles, which should hopefully get authorized soon (theres also some glitch fixes). Also, if you read the comments, news, or readme file you will see why I decided not to do lip synch.

Fair enough. I gonna download the v2.0 and see what´s going on there. Sorry if my previous post sounded a bit too harsh but i could not enjoy the mod at all. If you allow me to give you an advice it would be to make a learning curve inside the mod´s gameplay. A game/mod/level should not start in a cornice with beams-coming-from-nowhere killing you. I mean, in the 15 attemps of playing it i could not even kill a headcrap. Also, while Alyx voice seems to be very accurace, it seems to be recorded inside a bathroom (if at least you could add subtitles). I´m still annoyed because she doesn´t move her lips but i think i´m going to figure out why you did it that way reading the TXT.

Hmmmmm I love when people whine about not being able to figure out a game. It's such a lack of gaming skill to moan about dying. Use your brain kid figure it out just like everyone else seems to have done. Maybe you are a little too noob to play a sophisticated mod, but I digress. I found everything just fine without watching the playthrough so there you have it.

On to the next :) Keep it up MIKE

Very Impressive mapping, with amazing visuals and great game play. I would personally recommend this map to people and already have. Hope you make more and good luck if you do.

I'm sorry but this was really not worth the download. The mapping was very pretty but from a gameplay perspective it was extremely frustrating. I kept dieing constantly and it was unclear what I was supposed to do. The fight scene was alright, I liked the dubstep music. It was also way too short.

I'm pretty sure the music makes figuring out the puzzles twice as difficult. Also, I need to find an RPG in the parliament chamber - even though I found two in the hands of my pals blocking the exit. Eh...
