Our graphics magician, K.D., managed to realize the reflections on the water and add real soaking in the rain. Here is a sample.

Oh my god, dude, this is amazing. I love the rain, and this is just making be squeal and get all excited for how great this will all look. It almost looks like puddles are forming from all the rain! Share more stuff man, maybe a vid--I'm dying for this mod now!

No puddles yet, just wet ground. But I'm thinking about dynamic puddles so stay tuned :)

Awesome. KD, what's this based on? Meltac is also doing this but it's looking very different from his technique
There is only one efficient reflection rendering technique - Realtime Local Reflections from Crysis 2. I'm using it and so Meltac, i'm pretty sure. Speaking of details, we have just a combination of RLR and envmap reflections that apply on asphalt with some power.
That's awesome. So it will only display on the ground? or any reflective surface because when I tested it my weapons looked like they were made out of chrome.

Reflections are applying only on asphalt and water. Despite they can be applied on surfaces with particular materials (or even particular textures) it is hard to find which surfaces are hitted by rain.
Ahhh, I see. Last question because I think you're capable of doing this;
Millenia and I tried to apply cube-map projections to weapons, based upon their transparency. So in the metallic parts of a weapon a cube map is displayed (this is done in R1, not in R2 for some reason) will you include this as well? (or in the scopes maybe)

Environment cubemap can be apllied on any surfaces easily (i think), but i wonder if it will be good looking. Usually in games there are no cubmap reflections on such meshes but lights reflections. Because of deffered shading on r2 it is impossible to add reflections of complete set of lights, only sun reflection. Anyway i'll take look at it.
