Can you make the shotgun go to foresight mode when walking even if the rmb is pressed? Because IRL you wouldn't shoot a shotgun while walking and the Spas-12 is a powerful shotgun, so it's ironsights are barely used.
So, you should be able to aim with it only when you are standing and not moving at all. For the rest weapons it shouldn't matter.
That makes me think of the aim mechanic in bodycount (really underrated game) where you are frozen at a spot when you aim down sights, and the directional keyes turn to "lean" keyes where left is lean left, right is lean right, up is straighten out, and down is crouch, It works great behind cover too. It's probably the best system for cover and ADS I've ever seen in a shooter.
I hated that mechanic more than I can express. Run and gun was something that would have worked so well in that game. Would have worked better with normal sights and holding left bumper at any point would put you in that pivot mode.

Hmm... I think that would create an interesting gunplay dynamic, since the player will have to sacrifice mobility for power.

It is unfortunate that it was featured in that particular game, yes, but I think it could really work here.
