Heres a few preliminary screens of the quarters where the employees live. There will be several color schemes other than tan/beige.
Basic living room. Its not done, but theres enough done to post a screen.
not done, I was gonna say! I mean wheres my desk and pc so I can play mods like this one :P
Anyways, it loox interesting but I am guessing the flooring is carpet ? The dark lines and tiny blocks make it look kind of like grate style flooring tho.
Theres a little alcove across from the kitchen with a desk and pc all set up :)Not very setup will be the same, some will have a dining room set there instead though. The floor os carpet, its probably the angle. The lines are less pronounced when youre running around in it.
Not the coziest atmosphere, but that's some decent living right there. And is that a kitchen bar?
Yes, thats a kitchen bar. The countertop is white marble but for whatever reeason it didnt come out in the screen. My guess is the light above it is too bright. I went with a semi-modern design, much like apartments built in the late 20th century. There will be some art pieces and other things to 'cozy it up' a little more in some of the units. Others will be clean and almost spartan. You'll be able to tell the different living styles of its inhabitants by what their quarters look like.
Spotlights look like they should create a strong highlight on the floor but the lightning is pretty even. Ease up on the light halos or have the highlights on the floor.
Definite need of like posters. The wall on the left of the tv, there should be like, employee mottos. At my work there's things in my breakroom that say "With us, it's personal" in gigantic lettering that's all decorated. Haha.
tl;dr something should go on that wall. And I agree on the spotlights too.
I planned on more decorATION...that space on the wall is reserved for a shelf with some books and stuff on it, one of those thats mounted to the wall.
As for the spotlights, theyre gone. Ive already replaced them with env_lightglows, as they look a LOT better in these particular maps. I was looking at them last night, thinking 'those just dont look right' :)
Good to hear.
I just wanted to say that this room looks nice from the layout, but needs more detail.
As for the spotlights. I would have recommended you point_spotlights that are more transparent, in combination with env_embers. However, env_lightglows should fit too.
A few notes:
I can't tell, due to the low resolution of the screenshot, but the flowers in the background leave a strange shadows. They make the entire corner dark.
The glass-texture you used on the window does really need do be replaced.
Other than that it's ok.
Agreed on all points. The striped glass texture is one I use for bulletproff and otherwise unbreakable glass, mainly in the Labs. (where you definitely want to keep things sealed up at all costs.
I have some other glass textures I will use in the residential areas and more yet for anything breakable. In all, I have about 6 glass textures, but I havent put them into place yet.
As for detail, its not done yet. There will be much more detail to each 'apartment' when they are finished. I pretty much was looking for general feedback before I went too far with things. (and Ive already fixed the spotlights)
Thanks again for your feedback; it keeps me on track and is a great help to making this Mod shine :)
