METAL GEAR : DOOM is a stealth based shooter for the iD tech 1 (doom) engine which will attempt to recreate the gameplay of the original Metal Gear games in a classic 8bit art style. There is no real date that we can confirm a playable build. But it should be pretty soon.
Hello there, Benjamin "OMacKnight" MacKnight here and back from my vanishing act. Was just browsing through my desura game library and remembered that I was working on this project. Nowadays I just do full games as I'm working with a studio on a project. But this post is just an open question to people asking if this game is still an "interesting" idea to any of you? If you can pop your thoughts in the comments that would be appreciated since I'm thinking of getting a hold of the other guy and actually producing a few games. If he's up for that.
The original design idea behind this was that we were going to make a metal gear solid style first person shooter using the doom engine. With a multiplayer heavily inspired by Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow's multiplayer. But in doom.
Anyway, thanks for any feedback and if there is an interest I'll do my best to get all beta testing done by April and a full release by summer (although beta releases will happen along the way).
Also, if you know konami's contact email I can goahead and get a green light from them for this. Talk to them since metal gear is still their property.
