The SkyrimOnline mod adds one ot the game , so it would probably work ontop of this if the support was added by them.

Hmm, well we already have lotr online and we all know how that turned out. I for one am glad those two mods are separate, for there is only one dark lord, and he does not share power!! Muahaha...
(and then I remembered there won't be an evil campaign :P )

i am afraid there won't be any elves at Helms Deep.. they stick to the book, where no help from Lorien was sent to Rohan.

That's BS, if you ask me. Cuz if they were going strictly by the books, then they wouldn't make Helm's Deep, the weapons, armor, etc. look like the ones from the movie. Just cuz it was described as such in the book doesn't mean it looked EXACTLY like it did in the films.
If anything, they should make a non-mandatory side quest where you can request aid from Lorien, so it can play out either way: by the books or by the movie. Only seems fair for those who didn't read the books and wanna play it out their way.

Read the timelines in the appendices genius. The Elves have their own battles to fight. And the distance to travel is far too great. The defensive retreat to Helm's Deep was a last second decision. Elves at Helm's Deep was a silly addition by PJ that he did for reasons I don't understand. And the movies have good visuals based on wlrk by Alan Lee. They look good, that is why we are using those references.

A lot of things in the Movies don't make a whole lot of sense. Often things are changed or omitted that end up losing a great chunk of the character/detail/logic from the books & the things that are valued by many are left out. Leading them to be 'Peter Jackson's' LOTR & not Tolkiens.
I give these guys (devs) a whole lot of respect for setting the books & manuscripts of Tolkiens Arda first and walking a finer line. Especially as this isn't a movie but a rpg game where greater immersion and depth is greatly desired.
So let them create their project as they see fit. They are gracious & modest enough to recognise that views will differ on something so grand & engage with the community of enthusiasts of book & film to better the results.
Frankly I may not agree with every nut & acorn (so far I mostly do) but I'm not the one putting in the hours.
So for me; "The road goes ever on and on...
...And I must follow, if I can..."

@Baryonyx: Great speech there :)

Btw, what do you disagree with currently about MERP? I'm really curious :P (I am a MERP dev, so don't feel like you'll be attacked for a nitpick or two).

Enagan is working on that stream right now. The Helms Deep model will also be rotated so the Deeping Wall becomes parallel with Helms Dike.

You guys probably noticed a weird, solid beige colour in the LOD of the mountains, that's the main reason for this retexture.

The West side of the area before the Helms Dike is open, that's where one group of reinforcements came from.

oh.i thought they came from the east.like in the movie.now if they come from the west there will be no sun rising behind them ;;)

and i hope the reinforcements who will come will be horsemen, not swordsmen like in the book..its much better i think

@andreitibo: Although we use movie visuals, we as a team generally prefer the book events, so you'll probably be seeing dismounted Riders of Rohan lead by Erkenbrand. I imagine Erkenbrand had a very good reason for having his soldiers dismounted. Perhaps Isengard's armies had weapons ready to fight Riders of Rohan (so probably lots of spears)? Or maybe Tolkien wanted to save the epic Rohan charge for the Battle of the Pellenor Fields :P

They were guarding the ford before they were routed. Horsemen are great for offensive and defensive strategies on vast open plains, but they are not nearly as good as foot soldiers at holding a line. A shield wall will do better guarding a ford than a bunch of horsemen

I'm taking this off the movie, but near the end of the battle. Where Gandalf returns (On top of that hill), will that be included? I can't really see it, or it just might be because of the angle of the picture is obscuring it.

No.. this was an invention by PJ for the movie, alongside the Elvish army at Helms Deep.. in the book, Eomer was at the Hornburg right from the beginning, while only men of Rohan defend it. The force that rescues the besieged is a host of infantry led by Erkenbrand and entered the Deep from the west. :)
