MechWarrior: Living Legends is a total conversion mod for Crysis Wars turned standalone, mixing BattleTech's combined-arms warfare and universe with BattleField's vast open maps and domination style gameplay.
Great work and very interesting... I'm not a battletech expert but why are there two joysticks inside the cockpit?
In addition what is controlled by the pedals? Of course a mech has no rudders like a plane but maybe it is a replacement for the missing speed control wheel at the joystick(s) - something like the accelerator pedal in cars? Or for turning the torso left/right?
To answer your question here is a description of what the mech cockpit is in the Classic Battletech Universe and it makes sense. Your Probably didn't play Mechwarrior 3 so are unaware of the Free Reticle, pretty much, One stick controls the Mech's arms, the other stick controls the torso. The bedals are for walking and jumpjets.
"COCKPIT
Sitting in the cramped cockpit of a ’Mech—usually
located in the “head” of the ’Mech—a MechWarrior is
strapped into a command couch that allows him access to
all of his ’Mech’s systems. Foot pedals are used to generate
walking motion as well as to ignite a ’Mech’s jump jet
system (provided the ’Mech has that capability). Twin
joysticks located on the command couch’s
arms allow for torso movement, manipulation
of a ’Mech’s arms and full targeting
capabilities of the ’Mech’s entire arsenal
of weapons. A battery of screens brings
a plethora of information before the
MechWarrior: standard visual, infrared,
MagScan, seismic, tactical maps, satellite
feeds and so on, while the ’Mech’s
heads-up display projects all of the
relevant targeting information right
in front of the MechWarrior."
Looks so much better :D
What happen to the older ones.
Cool, but a lot of 'unnecessary' polygons?
Or are the small details going to be removed from the actual model and added to the texture maps?
I'm guessing this is the high poly model, so expect less polys when it's in game.
Looks great! That an Owens by any chance?
Wow, It's exclusive model for cockpit view!? :P
***-kickometer readings are off the scale, captain! XD
awww sweet!
how can u look around the cockpit
the Cocpit is the part i love most
