The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

I need a little help, Is it possible to add mods onto this or no?Because my friend wants me to download it for him and add a mod in for him but I aint got a clue, plus I am afraid if I do this the owner would have the right to sue and or force me to remove the edited content.

Aside from that, anyone got a clue?

Mod he wants:Something called
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. OBLIVION LOST 2.2

Also he wishes me to change the weapon and suit degrade rate.. He thinks it goes to fast too lol.

And to re-enable artifacts..

It's possible in some cases and in others not or at least very difficult (well beyond my copy and pasting).

I tried to make 1.0552 compatible with SMP 2.4 (which contains OL 2.2) and OL 2.2 but ran into problems since the all.spawn files were very different from one another (unless, I suppose, if someone knew how to properly edit those files).
It may be easier (and better) to add L.U.R.K's functions and features to those or other mods rather then the other way around.
At this point it is what I would recommend since mods like SMP 2.4 or complete 2009 have bug fixes and community patch work that L.U.R.K doesn't yet possess. After all, LURK was released earlier then what was intended and is still a little too rough around the edges still to be recommend for novice mod editors or players.
Was good to get my hands on it though, been using it as a modder's resource for both adding into the mod and exporting stuff to others.
I suspect once LURK begins to acquire more features and fixes from other mods it'll feel less like its a beta.
It's still a huge improvement over vanilla though in terms of fun factor. IMHO. L.U.R.K's version of the bm16 is the best. accept for the first person run animations. SMP had better Shotgun run animations for sure. I still like everything else from l.u.r.k's sg's though.

I will say though it is possible to get free-roam-play/level skip*(even to the end)/level jumping from stalker complete 2009. Takes some effort to do though requires good file comparison/copy and paste skills. But is possible. Haven't done it with 1.1 but I'm sure it would work.

I haven't tried to re-enable artifacts (prefer it be left to someone more capable) but I do miss them a little but more importantly I miss the belt functions since I wanted to add belt/magazine/clip mod functions to the game.

*very useful for skipping parts of the game you don't feel like playing through for the 28th time. Every mod should have this for the sake of testing and editing a little easier.

p.s.

Weapon and suit degradation is easy pie eating in terms of editing. A little tedious but none the less simple enough. I'm hoping for more features though that add to the game like....: Moddb.com

I wouldn't upload any changes though accepts "how to"s or fixes. But uploading your own addition of a mod while its still under development is a major no-no since that can muck up the flow of development. You wouldn't want some shabby hack job imitation competing with a real version of the mod.

Better to wait until a mod is clearly no longer being worked on at all. Then ask permission or at the very least add credits where do if able.
When it comes to personal use though between a few friends then do whatever you like. So long as none of them upload it or anything stupid like that.
