The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

p.s. it has a bit more lag than original(game runs fast -- stop for a second -- goes again) is it normal? it's not always, just sometimes, looks like games loads resources.
Well, of course! The improvements actually take up way more resources than in the original (vanilla) game. The revamped textures eat up more VRAM and there's certainly more processing power required for the improved AI and weather system. It's normal that it lags, unless of course you have a GTX 295 or something ofthat sort.
I also have two problems, at first - on my wide screen (1600*900) shadows on the left and on the right of screen are a bit stretched. and the second - all new weapons and other new things don't have names in inventory, only filenames like weap_ak47_blah_blah_blah, and no description. is that ok? or this is a problem of rus localization?
ah, and also no motion blur at all, even with parameter -mblur in shortcut properties.

I've played as many FPS games as I can get my hands on.....I LOVE THIS GAME !!! Its as realistic as any I've ever seen. Bullet penetration , time of flight , bullet drop etc... all so realistic ! I try every new game (FPS) that comes out....I always come back to STALKER SoC ! The weapons are great ! With only a few exceptions on a few mods , the guns are all real representations . I love being able to add scopes and silencers ! Keep the MODs coming and this game will last forever !

Im playing this mod....one comment...I miss the box in the upper left that shows where everyone is...dead bodies are white dots and live enemies are red dots...friendly are green...etc...why wont this box work ? I can hear the beeps as I get close to other troops...just cant tell right away if they are friend or foe ! Do I need an anomaly detector before this is enabled ? Help !

I've been playing for a few hours now...the scopes are messed up.Wont mount on some that it says it will mount on. The perfect little 9mm sniper rifle that we all covet shows a scope but when you shoulder the weapon all you have are iron sights-then when you mount a scope , the image shows a scope humping the first scope ! TWO SCOPES ? But when you shoulder the rifle , there is just one. Not a big thing but a thing non the less. I really want the hud back that shows where all the bodies are. Realistic or not...I want it back.Maybe just have where the binocs identify people and then they appear on the map/hud ??? I hate running blind !

But, there is a little problem with my computer: ^^'
When I check the "Advanced lighting objects", all the objects (trees, buildings, caracters, ...) distant from me of ~75 metres are black, looks like the light distance stop there!?! (but it isn't, it's on max) If you need a picture, ask me to! :)
And, I wanted to know if it could be possible to add some options in... option! Like a check box to check or not if we want to use de steep parallax, the sun shadows, the volumetric lights, the bump mapping, etc. (because my computer lag a lot... :( )

I know you have worked long and hard on this mod, but I am going to be a jerk and ask for a install program. This mod looks really good and I would love to play it but I have very basic computer know how. and cant seem to get it right, maybe even a very detailed install guide with pictures would work. Stalker was a game with awesome potential and looks to me that you have brought that to light

(just in case others have this issue, i couldnt get the scientist to fallow me to Yantra, tried several times... not that it matters since any suit that is given or found is a leather jacket there was no need for the scientist escort [lol] )
Your mod is WAY too dark. What thing is that when you worked hard to have , for instance , excellent visual , in terms of quality, if you have everything on screen dark, almost pitch black ? I don't get it...If you look close everyone will notice that , when is 12 o'clock, for example, the screen looks like it's midnight ! It's ridiculous, how can one play in those conditions ? What is matter with you all visual modders ? Why are you obssesed with this DARK screen, dark nights , you don't see anything, even with modded powerful nightvision ??? I don't understand you...I'll never play such mod;it's a waste of talent.I wish I had your talent in modding visuals of a game and make a realistic beautiful game..
I think, the problem with nighttime in any version or mod of STALKER, is that GSC's nightvision code is apparently rather flawed. Real nightvision enhances any and all light, the game's nightvision only appears to enhance direct output from 'light entities' such as flashlights and lamps.
Even with nights this dark, NV should provide adequate illumination to see, but the game seemingly can't represent this function so I see where you're coming from.
If you want nights to be less dark, open gamedata/config/weathers/ and in each of the 'weather_' .ltx files (which can be edited in any text editor, but for ease of opening it I'd go with Notepad++, don't have to mess around with file extensions, just right-click and select Edit with...), find and increase the values of the "ambient =" lines for the required hours. I stuck with a 15% increase in ambient light, just enough to make out the terrain.... but however you tweak it is up to you.
Bear in mind that the lighter the night becomes, the more visible you will be, obviously.
I've personally tweaked the hell out of this mod myself to account for my own individual tastes. For instance, while the accuracy of individual weapons is fine, it seems every STALKER in the Zone - Strelok included - graduated with flying colours from the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy, so I set that back to vanilla (which was random enough as it was, IMO). Makes firefights more of a challenge when those involved would at least be able to hit the broad side of a Star Destroyer with a howitzer at 50 metres. ;P
Overall though, one heck of a mod, very much enjoying the stealth dynamic. In particular I find the "Metal Gear"-esque 'investigating' of the AI to provide endless amusement during the raid on Borov's place.
Not once been able to get to Guide while he's still alive, though. Gonna do it one day, just wait and see. ¬_¬
