Sun ... shafts!? Might this be the famous DX10 render you've created for LA? I wonder...

Sunshafts work even on DX9. DX10 is for realistic rain and realistic air dust. DX11 for super soft shadows and tesselation.

Way better, Lost Alpha, recreating the best game never made (the original, promised stalker game that we never got).

And much more. Though I wonder how storytelling will compare to the old script. Graphics look better than CS/CoP for sure: better skies, higher grass density, and it will have grass shadows.

I knew this game was gonna have sun shafts! I thought I spotted them in the 2012 trailer when I first saw it. Looks like I was right

I'm simultaneously hoping these are both better optimised AND less restrictive (in terms of time of day, light source, and maps the effect exists on) than Clear Sky's.

The effect looks great either way!

we tried to make it look good, its the strongest in the morning and evening, and minimal during daytime. shafts make the game way too bright, since the effect exists even if you don't look on the sun (and the sun color is mostly white-ish during the day)(yea, it follows the color of the sun), so with the same strong sunshaft at -for example- midday, the graphics would look washed-out. but if you go in a house, you still see shafts thru the hole on the roof etc...
