Our goal is to bring into focus the Legacy Era, but more specifically the Second Imperial Civil War. Play as either the tyrannical Krayt Empire, freedom-seeking Galactic Alliance Remnant or the obscure Confederation Revenant.

They do look great. And scary familier, say cheese these do look like my ion cannons with a purple tint to them, any change you got my particle in this?

After posting the pictures I actually thought to myself, as I looked at them, that the projectiles could be mistaken for being variants of your ion cannons. I've honestly never downloaded your mod (since I barely get the time to mod this one, thought I plan on playing yours), but I do understand your concern. These were created by modifying the FX Mod's particles for the Krayt's Mega Ion-Cannon. It may be hard to see but these also have an added purple-blue aura around the Ion/spark particles.

And that is exactly the problem, no worries I belief you ;) just that your particle has exacly the same. The electric and "aura" effect is the very same. Because I also have a glow around them. Btw I do like the idea very much about plasma mortars but a plasma burst isn't suppose to have a high tec target tracking system, srry maybe a little to much science but a plasma burst (atleast in real life) is a concentrated burst of super-heated gasses, that can burn through almost anything, when it hits something in the right angle. Would be cool though, but I don't see how a guidance system would fit inside the barrel, and survive the immense heat that is required to heat up and then thrust the gasses outwards. Sorry but I just had to say that after seeing this a couple of times.

I must thank you for not straight-out accusing me of stealing your ion cannons, as there are definitely other people who would instantly do so. Also, if you'd like I can send you the particle file I made for the mortars in case you'd like to be reassured; I have no problem doing that.

I actually didn't know there are plasma bursts IRL. These aren't based on them though and just use fictional science like a good portion of Star Wars tech. I haven't really thought through why they would work like shown, though in other works of Sci-fi such as the Halo Universe there exist plasma torpedoes or mortars with highly advanced tracking systems, so it's not too inconceivable to imagine the possibility of them working in the high-tech Star Wars universe.

I know a few who would, but I'm really not one of those guys.
Ohh well lets not make a problem out of the plasma thing, in real life it's a über-hot gas cloud, in your mod it is a target-tracking...blub of...ok now I got stuck ;)

Haha, one could make a game "Guess what's in that plasma mortar!"

but mortars fire shells right? at high speed?
wouldn't it be cool of it just was fired at great speed at the enemy than rather relying on their guidance system
just an idea though, it's already cool

It does remind me of a Covenant ship from halo.

Is there anyway to make the "selected ring" smaller? It just doesn't look right.

Yes, it was just that size because it's in initial testing stages.

Now these things... they are flat out awesome. Figured you guys would want to have an idea of how they'd look.
They're really fun to watch as they fly through space, in all their thousand-degree-hot-gas goodness. They're majestically destructive.
Don't mind the map name, it's one of my multiple test maps that I assign random names to. As always, there's more to come.
