Kings and Conquerors: The Hellenistic Era is a total conversion mod for Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots that aims to bring the Hellenistic period to life.
One of Rome's greatest enemies was itself. The history of the Roman Republic and Empire is filled with rebellions, revolts and civil wars. This political fragmention is represented in Kings and Conquerors by the appearance of multiple sub-factions that come under the Roman Empire, such as Roman Greece, Roman Egypt and Roman Italy. It's your choice what sort of diplomatic relationship they'll have in game.
These two images also show some new Roman units and buildings that have been completed since the last update. Can you find and name them all? Here's a hint: there are four new units and one new building.
And the rewards: if three are named correctly, I'll reveal some more Roman Republican-era units and if all five are named correctly, I'll reveal the Roman units and Uthum's brilliant Egyptian building set, which is definitely worth seeing. The same person doesn't need to name them all correctly so for instance if one person gets the first two and another gets the other three, then I'll still upload the images.
Good luck!
New Units: Triarii, Auxilia, Legionary and a Legatus.
New Building: Roman theatre.
I hope I got them right. Looking forward to see more! :D
Good start, you got the Cohors Auxiliarium and the Roman theatre, so there are just three more units in total to find, and just one more before I reveal the first reward.
The Legionary has already been shown in earlier images, the Legatus is actually Ptolemy from the vanilla Alexander Campaign, and the triarii is... something else.
Let's try again, Rorarii and Miles? Are the chicken vanilla?
P.S. I don't own the game.
You're very close, but the lightly armed spearmen in this image are in fact Vigiles. The Rorarii upgrade to the Vigiles, so they look quite similar as you'll be able to see shortly...
Because you identified the building and the Cohors Auxiliarium, and Ca Putt named the Vigiles and Syrian archers, I'll be uploading the first image. All you need to do now in order for me to reveal the Egyptian buildings is correctly name the lightly armoured skirmisher in the other picture. Hint: it isn't an auxiliary, levy or town watch unit.
I have a small question about vigiles: in the Falco series by Lindsey Davis, the vigiles are referred to as the "red tunics" but did they really wear red tunics everywhere in real life? otherwise, good job and thank you for allowing me to use your buildings and models as schematics for my own project for Spring.
I've never seen them mentioned as "red tunics" before and none of the mods I've seen depict them as such, so it doesn't seem that likely, but I don't know enough about them.
