This is a mod made for people who liked JKO's campaign but still want to be able to use all of their skins from JKA. This mod's focus is on porting Outcast's missions to the newer engine while trying to keep gameplay balanced and letting you use whatever mods you want from JKA. All with the storyline kept as intact as possible with the main focus being on simply getting the missions to work as intended. Some other bonuses included - such as scripts, new music and a new ui for single player.

JOA v3 has been uploaded, this will hopefully be the last major update. After at least 3 years in the making, most major bugs have been fixed. Cutscene animations, objectives, the skating glitch on yavin swamp, shader conflicts with academy, not being able to dual wield on ns_streets and many more bugs have been fixed. Big thanks to user sanguinehipster at jkhub.org for fixing many of these bugs.

Some small bugs still remain, the Galak boss fight on doom_shields doesn't work perfectly and some shaders may still flicker, but I'd say I've probably spent enough time working on this now. Unless any major gameplay breaking bugs are found, this is the final version of my mod.

I think I went over this in the readme, but the main difference is that my mod lets you choose your character skin and saber in outcast, although they don't show up in cutscenes. Older versions of my mod have your chosen skin and saber show up in cutscenes, but had issues with bugged animations and broken maps.

Some of the smaller differences include bug fixes like outcast's invisible grates and at least one missing skybox having been fixed. There's also some optional components like a new HUD and UI, weapon replacers and such included. The HUD replacer also has a 16:9 aspect ratio compatible version included FOR SINGLE PLAYER ONLY, multiplayer on base JA only supports 4:9 aspect ratios to my knowledge.

If you want to use this mod with other mods like EOC or OpenJK, go ahead but I can't guarantee it will work. I'm afraid you're on your own. If you have any more questions, please refer to the readme first, and then tell me you find it unclear. Have fun.

I actually read the description on this and the 3.0 download page several times, and still couldn't understand the difference, or did you mean the readme file inside the 200 Mb archive? Because I am just in the process of downloading it. In any case, thank you for clarifying this. I am actually looking forward to (finally) fix the HUD on widescreen monitors... The one thing I still don't know how to fix is the first person weapon view with any FOV except 80... Currently, the weapon is way too low (look at the scope of the blaster rifle for reference)... But apparently, both in JKII and JA MP, you are supposed to use cg_gunX and cg_gunZ commands to offset the weapon displacement, but they don't seem to work in JA's SP.

As to the other mods, it's EOC's installer that confuses me. It describes the procedure of properly adding the Outcast files but doesn't mention if you need a mod like your Jedi Outcast - Academy to actually run the campaign, or if it offers similar (but not updated as recently) functionality by itself...

Personally, I prefer having it look like my character is holding their gun at their hip rather than up at their face, but I generally play the game in third person most of the time anyway. I'm not aware of any way to change weapon position in first person, and it doesn't bother me, so I'm sorry but I'm not aware of any fix.

I don't use EOC personally, so I can't really help you there. I'm pretty sure it works by itself just fine, but I'm really not sure.

The readme is posted on the download page under description, and is directly copied from the .txt included in the download. Moddb's formatting might have messed it up a bit though.

The only way that could be fixed is by porting Kyle's animations from outcast to academy's skeleton. I spent a while trying to this, but I don't have the time or skill to do it. It's possible to bring back custom skins in cut scenes, but it's not easy.
