Intelligent Design is a HL 2 Multiplayer mod that pits two teams against each other in a First-Person-Shooter/Real-Time-Strategy game. The two teams play very differently while having a core focus of teamwork and communication as their cornerstones. The SNS are the ranged/technology based team, focusing on a central command point, with a single player who is voted at round start being the 'commander' of the team; this player has a top-down RTS style view, and is the true director of his team's actions in the round. The Feral are the melee/organic based team, featuring individual technology trees per-player, and no 'commander' player, focusing instead upon a group interaction and communication. Each team's main objective is to control more territory than their opponent by capturing 'nodes' on the map that supply resources used for increasing technological prowess; ultimately pushing their opponents back to their starting node and destroying it and their means of spawning. It's the future, humanity has continued to grow and develop. Nano-technology is in use in almost every facet of life. The Intelligent Design Institute (a division of Sol Nanotech Industries) continues work with nano-technology by sending a group of medical experiments out to Orion Station. The purpose of the experiments are attempts to cure human disease given to animals (these animals are selected because they can simulate a human response to treatment) by using nano-technology. While the experiments are occurring, the animals involved start getting more agitated, more aggressive and appear more logical and calculating. Eventually one animal escapes, hides and starts producing other nano-enhanced animals. These "intelligently designed" animals make short work of the humans on Orion Station. The Sol Nanotech Security (Sol Nanotech Industries's Internal Security Force) are called in to clean up and fight the nano-organic creatures. But what they don't realize is one of the creatures escaped aboard a supply ship and has now infested several other ships and space stations. It's at this point the game begins. Choose your side, Sol Nanotech Security or the Feral (Nano-Organics) for a battle of survival. For a more complete impression of our world and environment, check out the story available on Idmod.net

wait maybe you could make a mini mod with the instead of humans and creatures have HL2 citizens/combines vs antlions, zombies, crabs, hunters
It reminds me of Natural Selection.
...Natural Selection.
Naw, hell, even the name's a parody of "Natural Selection".
did i see a antlion?????
watch the video.. It makes sense when I explain it ;)
ive always liked the idea of someone putting two ideas in a game/mod,
the first person shooter/real time strategy concept.
very very cool idea, gj, and keep it up!!
:)
It's a good idea, but it's not the first of that kind. Take a look at Empires if you like those types. This also reminds me alot of a mod for the original Half-Life.
i look forward to playing some of the maps, they look cool as hell
i like it. can you show us a video preview?
The best chance this mod has is to be as fast paced as possible, AKA leapskulk vs lmger type of gameplay, without the long walks and long respawns.
