The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.

Hmm, to be honest I was never a fan of those holograms in Homeworld. It has bever been used in canon. And that raw steel of Homeworld is one of the things I love about it. There are no energy shields and half of the weapon fire are projectiles and missiles chewing right into the ship's metal. There's no startreky pew-pew and space magic. So a giant hologram like this in my mind just doesn't belong here.
It's not easy to describe. It's not that it would be completelly out of place, the whole Homeworld is full of crazy colors and signs and numbers painted on ship hulls and that's perfect. This theoretically 'should' fit right in. And that's not really my problem, the "graphics" by itself. More like what it stands for.
My problem is simply it feels like it takes influence from a different style of games.
If the HW is like Tiberian Sun, the hologram is like from Starcraft. If the HW is Age of Empires 2, the hologram is Warcraft 3. If the Homeworld is well... Homeworld, the hologram is from Sins of a Solar Empire. It's simply that "flashy, magic, gamey" element I'm so allergic to.
And I know this is not going to be a popular oppinion at all.
Hrr.
Pouk, sorry, accidentally minused your post.
I second that. It's not for Homeworld.
And actually, guys, you're making HW Remastered. Please, don't add stuff that wasn't existent in HW1, until you REALLY need it.
Period.
Totally have to agree with the previous comments. It just isn't right, I mean, are pilots so dumb that they require guidelines in order to park?
Are drivers so stupid that we need lines to stay in our lane?
For the moment, it must be said that the Taiidan Carrier features different things that have to mature up to v1, i.e. not only the dock paths. We didn't have the time to get back to it.
Just to remember: the virtue of this Taiidan Carrier is bringing to life a JAK concept that was not adopetd in HW1, hence this paradoxal "canon-not-canon grey area" of features that will be better tuned in a proper moment.
I agree with the previous writers. It shouldn't be there that however would be once again such a thing for a so called classic game mode and an enhanced game mode where you add all those tiny new features. :)
HW FX mod was the first to introduce that kind of stuff and while it does look good (it really does) it's not homeworld.
