The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.
indecisions... now with team colors
the top patterned one or the bottom random one???
I don't think you'll need that many research modules in the first place, you only got to build 5 research ships, I suggest building one research ship which builds 4 additional research modules(research ships)
Look at the research of the Somtaw race, though no beast related research should be used in this mod for teh time being

Actually linking research ships could actually be possible
1st they never dock with any ship(the docking command could be used)
As seen in the PTV mod the Progenitor fighters could link to eachother trough the docking command.
6 research ships actually. And yes, external docking of multiple ships is certainly possible, you only need to look at the Complex mod. The shuttle is probably the best example.
I like the proper peg use of the top, but I also like the more complex shape of the bottom.

Due to the evil of NLIPS, when all six research ships are connected, it looks like the grey cylinders are intersected entirely with the other ships. This is what I remembered from HW1 before looking again just now. The last image shows that actually the cylinder is only intersected up to the first red line. So the question is, did Relic try to counter NLIPS so the Research Ships look correct in the first two images, or did they intend there to be little to no intersection as can be seen when using JAL's True Scale Mod (turns off NLIPS).
Ok but if you look at the graphics of the parts getting connection you can see that there are vacuum doors, no tunnel entrance for one of the doors they just connect externally and not inside the ball like shape of the module. This means that it should look like in the original game.
I added so many modules because it looks a lot better, and as you can see on the concept art the idea was to have a lot of them, but of couse the poly budget couldn't have it, but now we can.
My idea is to start with 2 horizontal modules, then each subsystem module contructed will enable all the new tech's. Hw1 add a lot of researches, so 9 extra modules isn't that much.
Original yellow and red.
Or you could go republican, white with cyan.
I widely prefer the top one. Head-tail all life.
Top one.
