The goal of Half-Life 2 : MMod is to enhance and expand gunplay, combat mechanics and the immersion factor by giving the Player more options and combat opportunities as well as refine how the Player handles his arsenal. Half-Life 2 : MMod also offers minor AI enhancements, extended abilities for combine soldiers, multiple bug fixes, enhanced visuals, VFX re-design, sound redesign and much much more, while keeping nearly every new feature in the mod totally optional.

I wish this site had a fullscreen option for screenshots like this. I can barely read the options.

Hey gunship, could you potentially make a mod that makes the alyx gun and annabelle available to gordon? I mean, you could spawn them in the console, but something would be wrong with them, or it wouldn't work well. Here's a video I found with unused animations for the alyx gun. Perhaps you could make them usable for freeman.

Normal, Burst Shot, Single Shot

What do you say? Do you think you're up for it?

Excellent work like always! The MMOD trailer is amazing and also the one for the C&C Generals Evolution. Plus, this is one of my favorite things in this mod, so it can make everyone happy. And I get that some people don't like more colors, Lens Dirt, Cinematic Filer or some other things, but it's great that those people can turn it off directly in the game menu.

BTW: If those people are still going to complain, then just don't care about them. They should be grateful for the huge amount of work which you are doing for everyone and for free.

Thank you c:

The thing is, I just can't disregard people I don't agree with, as long as they're not shitposting ( I.imgur.com ). I've planned to make a follow up video, describing and showing off all features in full detail, but I am on such a tight time crunch that I cannot afford anything but working on C&C Mod 'til the end of this year.

I have a lot of sympathy towards poor FAKEFACTORY fella, he must have super thick skin if he could sustain buckets of crap showered on top of him ( sometimes rightfully so ), but God damn, that dude is a tank.

I'm kind of surprised to see that people compare this mod to Cinematic Mod or HL2:Update and even SMOD, as it's meant to replace or surpass them for some reason. In reality it's really not, it is its own small separate thing, a little bit different Half-Life 2 with action style like atmosphere.

But I guess some people wanna see what they wanna see, and I only can cater to them to some extent, in the end I'm making mod for people to enjoy, and the more people enjoy it the wider my smile will be.

I understand, but they should appreciate your work a bit more since its not an amateur work like a lot of other mods. On the other hand, your mods are one of the best. Also, there is no need for another video since its better to focus on the mod. However, if you would find some time and you would really want to make a video you can do it.

Indeed, he probably has. Unfortunately, it's a pity that people were angry about the characters, even when there was an option to have the Vanilla characters which were low poly against the new ones, but nobody was stopping them to make their own characters. Plus, I'm sure that there was some kind of mod made in the last 10 years since the Half-Life is a very popular game.

I can easily see why they are comparing it, however the Cinematic Mod adds a lot of things which a lot of people don't like. The Update mod on the other hand is a great Vanilla expansion mod, but the fact that it is only at the Steam workshop make it a big minus for me since the workshop is very confusing and not easy to understand like the Moddb. And I don't know about the SMOD since I haven't played it yet.

That's true, but they should be happy that you are making an amazing mod for free without any ******** which is very common in the gaming industry.

Is anyone actually complaining, though? I'd think if it was an issue, they'd just avoid the mod.

Sure, Fakefactory got shat upon, but I didn't like his mod, so I didn't use it, end of story. Also, my understanding was that they didn't exactly avoid stirring the pot.

And hey, if you ever feel like taking a whack at some of what SMod Tactical did in terms of game mechanics, I wouldn't be against it! That being said, I'll gladly play and enjoy this as is with this showing of features.

Definitely yes, since always there is that one guy who doesn't like something.

Yes, that's how they should do it too, but some people like to complain.

Would it be possible to add L4D style dismemberment? L4D2 dismemberment might be impossible due it there being over 56,000 dismemberment variations for each common infected model variation

26,000 not 56,000

IIRC, the dismemberment is effectively done using pre-generated wound models, which weren't added to each model by hand. Certain parts of existing models are hidden and new wound models are added into the hidden areas. This allows a VAST number of dismemberment models and combinations without having to make a new model for each possibility. As a result, this isn't a huge amount of work to implement. While it's definitely up to the mod author to implement what they feel are good features, there's no reason to feel overwhelmed by having to create 26,000 new models, as that's not how the system works. Adding this support to all the different combine and zombie variations would actually be less work than anticipated, and is mostly in the gore/modelling department.

I was also wondering on if it will have presets (like low, med, high, etc.) to make it more convenient for different PC users? If there are, will there also be like a "vanilla" option to revert back to the normal game?

This is how a settings menu is supposed to look like.
Devs keep "uncluttering" their menu settings so its easy to use, but this thing right here is how it should have been in the first place!

All the work and effort you have put into this mod is ******* Phenomenal; I can't wait for this to come out, I'm so going to do a Let's Play of this, and go from the start and to the end. Looking at all these options and effects is really astounding, you deserve a lot more credit ALOT MORE! Keep doing what you're doing, who knows, you might get hired by Valve or something. I'm going to keep tabs on this until you release, and when that happens and I'm spreading this mod far and wide. Thanks for being awesome mate!

Fair point, even if Valve did try to hire him I think he would turn em down or something. You know how they are.

Can you please add in the ability to aim down the sights of all weapons, like SMOD? That would make this an absolutely wonderful mod to play, I feel like that's all it's lacking.

Looking at the videos, I think he did. Sorta. It's more of a braced-zoom like in older FPSes than ironsights. I actually prefer it over ironsights when it comes to run-n-gun shooters since it doesn't obscure your vision as much while still providing a sense of focus when aiming at long range targets.

Hey, Nice mod you got here and hopefully you can get it out soon because this looks outstanding like really good and I'm serious there's hardly any god mods for HL2 and I have high hopes for this one, Just ignore the hate you get because they might not like it but a bunch of other people most likely will. I enjoyed your trailers btw keep it up

Hi there. I wanted to drop my two cents. This must be the best thing since sliced bread for Half Life 2. The new weapons, interesting game dynamics, and extremely spellbinding visual effects rejuvenate the game's appearance and give it a new lease of life like no other mod has been capable of doing so.

Please, keep it up until it's finished. If we ever get to play it in its final version, I'm sure it'd be on a par with "Black Mesa" as far as quality is concerned. Cheers!

This is looking good!

Any chance we will get an option to disable the new weapons? Or the new gameplay entirely? Personally I love the new gameplay stuff, but I can see how people might want to play "Vanilla HL2 with highly updated graphics", which would be good too.

Also, an option to use HL2 style sprint/flashlight (sprint/oxygen and flashlight all use aux power) or EP2 style Sprint/Flashlight (flashlight runs on a seperate battery) would be nice too.

I think both of these options would be a really great addition.

Description

One thing I forgot to cleverly mention in the trailer ( mostly because it didn't fit the dynamic of the trailer itself ) is how 90% of mod features and 100% of visual changes are completely optional.

I've got quite a lot of shit from people saying that everything looks like someone poured acid in their eyes while they're on lsd trip, and it's easy to shit on someone's work of 10 years, without going deeper into project development or just scrolling through media.

I do care about what people say ( sometimes very close to my heart ), I just don't want people to build any misconceptions about this mod because of one single trailer.

Number one rule of this mod is - don't like something - turn it off.

It's been build with player's preference in mind from ground up and it always will be.

( don't mind my engrish in menus they're very WIP and were done on a stream )
