A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series. The sides will be the UNSC and the Covenant with the forerunners/sentinels and the flood acting as non-playable factions. The custom created maps will revolve around the destruction/detonation of the Halos depending on your faction while the original maps will have the feel of Sins but with Halo flavor.

I have a question. In the book The Pillar of Autumn had a crap load of upgrades that made it a kind of Uber ship :)

So will you have maybe a Mark II version or something with similar upgrades?

Awesome ship anyway.

Well the plan that I have currently, is to have an older bunch of ships and then have a branch of the UNSC military tech tree dedicated to "refit's".

My God that is beautiful. It looks like it’s straight from a cut scene in the first Halo. Well done!

The skin seems somewhat light. Perhaps you should make it a bit darker.

not to be insulting or anything but I find it funny that the texture used for the hull on this looks eerily similar to the texture I used for my sketchup pillar of autumn model here's a link:

even I can tell that its not your texture, since this one, to be honest, is better, and considering its hard to make a texture unique when you want to stick to cannon

Model is different, who imply that UV are different and texture are different... and sorry, the textures look really different...

By the way, it can happen that ship look alike for the same model without having someone copy the other... all texturer have huge archive of material... some well know panel basic texture are very successful and it will not surprise me that more of one people use them...

Myself, i use basic material texture found on the net where i add some material made by rendering 3D high poly detail...

By the way, if you have create your texture by painting it pixel by pixel, it is yours... but if you have use public domain picture/material/texture for create it, using copy and paste, it is not yours... only the composition is yours...

By the way, your covenant assault carrier at Sketchup.google.com have the same same that my covenant assault carrier ( derivated work of Blamtroid, have remain 200 poly identical on the 12000 )... but don't worry, i will not complain...

@All_Under_Heaven: Nope, that was created by Blamtroid. Not to mention the textures don't look all that similar...

This is probably gonna be too advanced at this stage but, how about making a 'keyes loop' ability for the updated halcyon as a lvl 10 ability?

I don't even know if that would be possible in Sins. I'll see though.

I'll make the tech tree later. Don't worry, I'm a huge stickler for canon but still pretty creative. Maybe winter break...most of my free time is dedicated to tennis or Rome: Total War. It's just so addictive *twitch*

Description

The new Halcyon, skinned and rigged and ingame.
Its an aging class and has already been mostly replaced by Marathon cruisers. However, due to the heavy loss of newer ships many retired ships are being kept in serviced and, in some cases, upgraded.
