Description
You may recognize this design from the glory days of Halo 3. This is the frigate variant that doesn't require any research to build.

Autocannons. The only railgun-type technology the UNSC has are the coilguns they call MACs (on ships). We try not to invent tech they don't have, as that would be lame.

Just saying though, I have no problem with not having railguns on a frigate.
Railgun turrets are on larger ships, such as Super Carriers.

I can indeed. But I'm also making the executive decision to forgo them on Charon and Paris frigates.
Who is the idiot that claimed those are railguns? Their rate of fire is far too high to be classified as a railgun. Those are more likely conventional turrets for PDS or for combating smaller vessels.
This is why I don't like the Halo wikia.

@Canada: I understand your reasons for doing so, I guess using autocannons is more canon then adding railguns to every ship :P
I agree with Onearmy on the railguns. For one I have only seen one Frigate with them on it and its on SandTrap in Halo 3. But the rate of fire would be REALLY slow since they would be chaging the MAC with more power than the little railguns. The railguns are for bombarding an area in atmosphere.
