Description

This is version 0.90.2 of Sins of the Prophets, a beta release for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion version 1.94. Installation instructions are included in the zipped up file. You'll need to unzip the file and extract the folder named "SotP v0.90.2" to your mod directory (most likely still named "Mods-Rebellion v1.85"). If you attempt to enable the parent folder the mod WILL NOT work. Installation instructions are provided in the download, unzip the file to gain access to the instructions, the mod folder you need to enable, as well as promotional materials and links to our social media locations.

What DLC is required to get the full experience of this mod? I have Vanilla Sins of A Solar Empire: Rebellion and the Forbidden Worlds DLC. I want to make sure I have all that is required to all features and game mechanics available. The astronomical amount of effort and work you all put into this mod is easy to see. You should all feel very proud of what you accomplished. I'm looking forward to giving feedback to the Sins team on the Beta over the next couple weeks. It only gets better from here. Thank you in advance for letting me know whats required.

Yep, this is a known issue. Resolutions below 1920x1080 are all experiencing this issue.

Awesome mod so far!! However struggling with the game crashing at random points, music will still play in the background, mouse still moves but everything freezes. Any ideas ? i have graphics on max if that could be the issue ? My version of the game is v1.94.hotfix of sins

I have encountered a bug with this latest version of the mod. I seem to get a soft crash midway through my matches. Since it is a soft crash I have no crash data to give you but it does happen when I select either a unit or a planet. I have yet to complete a match because of the soft crashes. Has anyone else been having this same problem?

Hello,

I played this version for a of couple hours and it is a REAL upgrade from 0.88 for sure. Loving the textures, HUD and new leader system.

But i found some points that need attention.

1. something with the UNSC Infinity:

When you select Infinity and go to the HUD where you can spend points into your abilities; the text(strings) from the Shiva nuke and the Instant slipspace is reversed.
I found this mistake in the earlier version also and i believe i fixed it by editing the titanupgrade entity files. Also the titanupgrades A until D are not in order in the Infinity entity file.

Also UNSC Infinity feels a bit underpowered in shield and hull strenght. And a bit in MAC damage. Correct me if i'm wrong.

2. SMACs and SHMACs feel a bit underpowered in mac damage and hull. Especially when a CAS snipes them from half the gravity well with plasma beams. Also the UNSC doesn't build that many SMACS, even on defense focus. mostly about 3 SMACs per planet, capital included. Personally i would like to see the true defensive capabilities of the UNSC with fortress planets loaded with SMACS. Something like 5 per regular colony, 8/10 for important colonies and 15 to 20 for the capital.
Correct me if i'm wrong

3. UNSC carrier spam:

I was playing with the A.I. a bit against the UNSC at maximum difficulty on the tiny random map. I figured out they really like to spam the Noryang carriers. Talking specifics there were around 70 or more noryang carriers in the map that probably was around 85% of the AI's fleet. As a player i would wish for a good variety of ships. Also the UNSC doesnt build that many halcyon's, paris frigates and very few capital ships.

4. TXT to BIN

I read some online that files in binary are more compact and faster to be read by the computer which increases overall performance. Maybe this could be helpfull. Looks like changing graphics to low doesnt increase my fps mid game, so i assume it is sins itself.

I hope this is some usefull feedback. I will keep testing and playing ofcourse. Thanks for this amazing mod. You made me love the HALO franchise again.

Forgot something.

5. There are many unused files in the mod like a forerunner titan files, covtitan files and many unused abilities like infinity titanupgrade reactor and shiva volley.

Also wouldn't it be fitting to have the Infinity be faster in slispace even than the covenant ships because it has a forerunner slipspace drive?

6. I actually put the shiva volley on Infinity. Thought it was fitting since it may have several shiva launch tubes. Also changed the shieldrestore effect and sound to the furious defence green particle bubble of the Ankylon titan (original sins TEC).

7. Also made the planets 2 times bigger because it looked cool. Probably has an huge impact on performance though?

8. Anchor station has Sabre bays option but instead of Sabres you can only build the regular fighters.

In regards to 3, I think that's because of the way the Sins AI is programmed... since in vanilla, they really like to nab carriers and siege ships for their fleets.

I agree with you on the MAC damage, this is suppose to be like cannon but I don't remember MACs from an orbital defense platform taking 6-7 S-OWPs to take on a single CAS or ORS. They were the final defense line for the planet and they have worse damage values than a PARIS class frigate at this point.

ok, mod is amazing but i gotta ask, devs... have you ever bothered to play through it?? Covenant is INSANELY OP... i try again and again UNSC vs Covenant, result is always the same... they expand faster, build fleets WAY faster, and their ships are so strong, i lose 3 capital ships and 6 Halcyon refits to take down 1 of theirs... how does 1 even win that?

P.S. I'm sorry, i like the mod, but unless there's a secret i'm not aware of, it's unplayable... i JUST got demolished in 20mins... what's that ECO? and how can lvl 3 ships have 30k shields on top of 7k hull? is there a catch to beating this? or is it just to see how long you last (a.k.a Flood time)

Yeah it's pretty crazy, it is lore friendly though. It is an entirely different game than base Sins. The UNSC have lots of techs that give you fleet capacity so make sure you are building huuuuge fleets, like way bigger than what I'm used to in Sins. The UNSC plays as a swarm fleet with huge alpha damage, so you really need to overwhelm your enemy with numbers and drop their big heavy hitters fast, you out range the cov so hit em and fall back, if it looks like it's going to be an even fight get out of there lol. I've had the most fun playing on some of the 3v3 mediumn maps with only 2 cov players and 3 UNSC.

I'm getting pretty consistent crashes playing this, have yet to be able to finish a match.

Running on the Steam version of the game with Outlaw, Stellar Phenomena, and Forbidden Worlds DLC (no Minor Factions)

System is an i7 8700k and a GTX 980ti

Had repeated graphics driver crashes while running this with the GPU overclocked (Never had any graphics driver crashes except one other time in an early alpha game which got updated and hasn't had issues since, it's stable literally every where else) these were usually recoverable.

Additionally been experiencing both hard crash to desktop and soft lockups where the game screen freezes, mouse pointer still moves and music still plays.

Is there a place for bug reports and are there any known issues and workarounds? Cuz I am really loving this, the factions feel great, things feel so desperate as the UNSC and the visuals are fantastic and I would really like to be able to play through an entire match without having to reload multiple times and quit in frustration after forgetting to save for like 45 minutes and crashing.

When I attempted to download the mod, my google chrome browser stopped the download and said the 'file is dangerous so chrome has blocked it'. But when I try downloading older versions of the mod, they download fine. What could cause this and how can I fix it?

Hey, I love the Sins of the Prophets mods and really loved your previous work. However, upon downloading this mod I can only get to the loading screen before it stops working. I deleted and redownloading the mod files a few times already but I still keep coming up with the same errors. The error is a microsoft visual c++ runtime error but that ways to fix it online haven't worked. Any suggestions?
