I had to laugh because this was the first picture I saw about the Thanatos and my first thought was "Are they showcasing it blowing up?"

Pretty much. The series came with faulty slip space drives that cause a few couplings in the fusion core to melt and explode.

Description

Showcasing the new Thanatos-class Heavy Destroyer.

This beast of a ship is capable of taking far more damage due to it's more sleek and angular shape being able to deflect and absorb incoming damage as opposed to the aged Orthrus-class Destroyer. It's compact, durable, made to pack a punch and look menacing at the same time. In the second picture, the blast shield is down. It goes down when the ship enters combat and it comes back up when it feels the area is safe.

Also in this update, you should notice that the barrel of the single naval gun at the front is a different color from the standard yellow. That is because turrets now have team and stripe colors as well, to better signify what belongs to who.

The last picture in this dump is of the new death effects, courtesy of Stargazer from the really awesome Star Trek: Continuum mod. Really go check it out, even if you aren't a fan of Star Trek because their mod is super amazing and will blow you away with what it can do.
