They are a little dark, but I believe it was said that that is temporary. Is that true? because alot of these ships are really dark
The game has a built in brightness setting, they can be as bright or as dark as you like them to be, try looking at it in full resolution, it's alot easier to see: Media.moddb.com

That's groups, it's a feature in most RTS's and was in the original EaW
Also exists in FoC, not just EaW.
