This mod is about bringing players the familiar feel, atmosphere and action of the original ravenholm from Half-Life 2. In "Pathway Through Ravenholm" you wake up as freeman himself, but in a different place and a different time. You will have to walk through the town full of traps and death to escape the incoming combine forces. The only way left is to make it through and escape from the Ravenholm docks with the refugee rescue boat. Will you make it through, or become one of the corpses laying on the streets?

Hello everybody,

Today i will talk about renaming the mod and share other related content.

First of all, i would like to thank you all for playing the demo, even though this is a 2 months late. It felt really good to finally release the demo after many delays that it had. Hopefully the full release will not take more time.

About renaming the mod:

This mod formerly known as "We Don't Go To Ravenholm" will now be called "Pathway Through Ravenholm"

I Have decided to rename this mod because the previous name could be quite misleading to people. Some people not checking out the mod think that this is some sort of Valve's Half-Life 2 Ravenholm demo or the Half-Life 2 Episode 4 recreation which is completely false.

This mod is imagined and created by me, the levels are imagined and designed by me.

So i decided to rename the mod to give it a more fitting name and original name, that is going to seperate it from the Half-Life 2 chapter name.

I also decided to create a new logo with this new name, to give it a more decayed and Ravenholm sign like look. Hopefully this name and logo will fit the mod even more.

About the upcoming chapters and the work done:

As of now, there will be 3 total chapters in the mod, of course that could change, but it is most likely to remain. The upcoming chapters will have a lot of things that took inspiration from the Half-Life 2 2003 Trap-Town e3 demo. That means that there will be combine too, which you will also use traps against.

After releasing the demo i took a break from the mod for over 2 months, so right now i'm still working on the first level of the upcoming chapter

Just plowed through the demo, great job!

Level design was top-notch and it's use of level prefabs/geometry instead of heavy props was a welcome surprise! Use of supply crates given per-determined ammo and health was also cool.

Sadly, it wasn't really that difficult and the combat got a bit tedious with the SMG/Pistol. I would have liked to mix it up with the magnum/shotgun and perhaps toning down the sheer volume of ammo as it was never a problem.

Otherwise, I can't wait for the full release!

damm dude that's a great demo but the gman just doesn't really fit tbh but it's your mod so you do what you want overall 9.5/10

You could always just make it so you don't play as Freeman. Maybe you're just a random rebel that's been hiding out from the Combine or something.

This was really cool! It started pretty slowly, but once you got into it, it really showed its chops. I really enjoyed how you expanded what happened to Ravenholm before you came via that little pit stop in the maintenance room.

The only "complaint" (more like nit-pick) I have is that the Skybox was pretty low res.

Aside from that minor nit-pick though, it's awesome.

heya 3stripedkilla. I've just played your demo and genuinely liked it! But there are few things I would like to rule out. Leaving textwall on moddb with no images or whatsoever feels a bit limited, so I wondered if I could have your discord so we could discuss stuff there.
