Caught by the remaining Combine, Gordon Freeman must escape to rescue his imprisoned rebel allies. Aided by the resourceful Dawn and her insurgents, you are sprung from captivity in order to spearhead a staged breakout from the notorious Port Halen Prison. But before you can get there you must loose your Combine pursuers and make your way through a wilderness long since overrun by the zombified.
Welcome to the hour of Dawn… Written, designed, and developed by Rage Crew, based on Valve’s excellent design.
Half Life 2: Dawn was developed as a student project on the IT-University of Copenhagen in 2006. It took us, a group of five game and level designers, around two months to get it all together, bringing you around one hour of game play. Enjoy!

Very good: 9/10. One bug: on widescreen systems it will fail to start with no explanation. The workaround is to set a launch option for a 4:3 rez "-width 1024 -height 768" and then change to widescreen in the game GUI. The widescreen menu background is also sometimes a pink and black checkerboard pattern.
Very well done. Bug free and the mapping was very decent. The constant zombie combat got tiresome after a while (i like cracking alien skulls) but the darkened hospital was a fantastic example of using simple map mechanics to make a very enjoyable level. Also the swamp, i had a ball running from an endless horde of zombies!
This mod was actually pretty good, some of the parts seemed like they were squeezed in at the last second. It was very short and i finished it in less than 30 minuites. It was fun but the ending was cheap. I didnt know if it was the credits or if i just finished a really big scene or what ever you call it then go into the real game. Some of the points that were supposed to surprise me were kind of obvious. Overall, a pretty good little game.
7/10
I didnt think ending was chep but f light need improvement
Pretty generic mod. Some bugs, copy/paste mapping style, sudden-zombie-from-the-corner oriented gameplay, no custom content. 5/10
this mod wasn't bad by any means. It's one worth downloading and playing through.
The whole beginning of the game was interesting and fun. The addition of headlights to the Combine helmets was awesome, if a bit flickery. Berhaps the next evolution of this visual spice would be to include the spotlight into the model itself...looked cool either way.
There were some cool physics puzzles and explosions which I enjoyed, even though the zombie combat was underwhelming. Perhaps some different apprroaches to the volumetric light would have improved the look of those houses, but it got the job done in terms of guiding the player.
The underground portion was my favorite part, mainly due to the total darkness and simple layout. I had fun getting totally lost in the bowels of that area, but I did not get frustrated because the layout was circular...I ended up coming back to where I had begun in most cases, and was able to keep finding new pathways.
I'm upset by the ending but even that was executed well.
Overall, awesome little mod.
Wow. I actually enjoyed this mod a lot.
The levels were made pretty well and the gameplay overall flows nicely, I think.
Intro, as well as the ending were made very well. The ending was pretty cool and executed cool-EY. Hahah. Great work guys.
One of the greatest mods ever seen! Awesome atmosphere and level design, with a touch of full action! Absolutely rated 10/10 \m/ Please, i hope you guys continue making mods for hl2.
