GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.

Hey guys,

Our coders barely slept this week from programming solidly on the back of the feedback received from the community. We appreciate all the things players have said, both the good and the concerns. Thanks a bunch.

The beta 3.1 patch will have around 30+ fixes in it and that is just massive. In terms of under 2 weeks since release, to refine the code this much ; It's a big effort and it will be a big reward for the playerbase! Unfortunately instead of being slated to release it mid-week we are now being forced to look at delaying its announcement and release. The reason is the valve update to TF2 servers that has rendered ALL mods on the OB basically server-less. You might be lucky to find a few servers that didnt have auto-update tool enabled on their box.

We are at the mercy of valve to fix this for our community and the other mods who are on Orange Box. If you wish to help out hound them on the steam forums that they need to cut us a break and get our community back playing on their favourite servers!

Anyway back to talking about our scheduled additions and changes that will be unleashed upon the fans as soon as this server issue is resolved ; Beta 3.1 hilights :

* Fixed mp_timelimit 0 and ge_roundtime 0, they function as they should to disable the time limits.
* Fixed nade block when trying to walk over it
* Fixed spectators blowing up proximity mines
* Fixed random weaponset and added "random_loadout" set which sets a new random set each Round
* Added ge_gameplay_random cvar which servers can enable which assigns a new gameplay type every match (map)
* When you first pickup a weapon it will be equipped fully loaded with as much ammo as you have for that weapon (instead of the default clip size, usually 10 rounds)
* Moved the death music client side and is toggleable with the "Disable Special Cue Music" advanced multi option
* Added HLStatsX server messages for player hurt and gun fired
* Proxy mines can now be exploded if THROWN OBJECTS PASS THEM WITHIN RANGE!
Thrown objects include:
- TKnifes
- Grenades
- Any mine
