This is the Tarkin Station and its charge particle effect before fire, perhaps it remembers you to the CW Malevolence but it is not the same weapon, this is a superlaser. I recomend you read the old Marvel comics. ;) Have fun.

The taking of the Tarkin station is one of The Best story arcs from when Marvel was publishing.
Originally, Marvel's staff was going to have it a Death Star-in-progress, but Lucas said "No" without giving a reason. Return of the Jedi was that reason. So, Marvel came up with an even FAR BETTER idea, the Tarkin!
Yeah, it's a LOT better than rehashing the Death Star, that's for sure.
Also, the Shira Brie storyline (I probably botched her name's spelling!) is a superb Marvel storyline.
