Clients (Players): Go to our downloads page and download either the executable if you like to have an installer do the work for you, or if you are an advanced user, you can choose to download the ZIP and install it yourself.
Servers: Go to our downloads page and download the FAS Client 1.0 and patch it with FAS Server 1.0b.

ehh.. people play this mod because it was just released. see in a month or two and you will find far less players. then they will be back to counter-strike or whatever regular game they play (that actually has high quality).

also how do you make the hud text smaller. the death notices cover up too much of the screen, even the weapon selection icons. I play at 1280x1024 btw.

Pretty awesome mod.
I like the fast paced action combined with the realistic-ish damage (can't just stand out in the open).
Could use some more polishing (I get some SERIOUS, ludicrous really, amounts of lag and my FPS drops from 70+ to 20-15)
But those didn't really bother me too much.

Yeah, you only need to have a Source game, to run the Source SDK Base 2007 to run the mod.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. somepeople like zombie master, some people dont, some people like this mod, some don't.

This is the worst mod I've played. Fine, they did an effort and I applaud that, but it's just like they haven't been thinking at all when they made this, where's the friggin originality!? The awesome gameplay mechanics!? The great mapping!?
The mod lacks all of these things and even more.

Exactly, it's version 1 where everything should've been sorted out in the alpha and the beta. I'd understand your comment if I'd been going on about bugs, but I'm not.
Why does it have to be original? In the first few lines of this update it outright says that this mod is centered around Quake-based gameplay. Who cares if its original, as long as it's fun.
It's not supposed to be "original"..it's the Source version of HL1's Firearms 2.5. Which WAS original back in the day...before "modern" shooters became the latest fad.
Lead and Gold was fun? Fun to be in a server browser, with no ping showing, trying to join 20 different servers before you finally get one; it lags like hell. Also, anything with the word "zombie" in it, isn't original... nor is zombie master fun in the first place.
I don't see how you guys are saying how bad FA:S is running. Update your PC... this mod runs smooth for me. No lag, even when running on WiFi.

this is a gd hl2 mod no doubt about it
real fun and if you get tired of the fast paced action you could always kick back and be a mortar support guy or set up a medic flag and patch up ppl.
In all honesty it felt crude and unpolished in almost every respect. The controls were clunky and buggy, I struggled just to zoom in and out with the sniper rifles. Apparently you have to be completely still to zoom in and fire, which was extremely awkward. Sometimes I had to push one key to change a fire mode, and for another weapon I had to push a different key. At it's core, the gameplay was barely more than a hl2dm reskin, only in hl2dm camping wasn't a problem. I do not see the sniper rifles as being balanced. The one hit kill weapon was ridiculously overpowered and it was not fun to play against someone using it. The weapon models and environment art ranged from decent to mediocre, I was pretty disappointed.
It's the first release only, so there will be improvements I guess.
I think it's very good so far, hope you keep it up.

There's only one weapon that you have to stop moving in order to fire. It's the M82 and it's done to balance it out. As it stands, it's still overpowered!

Nice mod.. If you want made a update, change all lighting of your maps because they look Half-Life 2 in 2004.. Your new props is nice, don't use props from Half-Life 2 (its look a old game).

This will be fixed very soon. We already tested the patch out last night and will continue testing all week.
I'm not enjoying the gameplay. It's okay, just nothing special. My biggest complaint would be the level design and poor optimization.
