Imagine, a Hollywood producer got his hands on the game. The result would be similar to what the Cinematic Mod is: a graphics blockbuster, redesigned to the typical game to movie adaption with an orchestral soundtrack and beautiful people everywhere.

Washed out and lifeless sounds pretty damn right to me, sounds like what the combines do with every life form, so to me, this is pretty dead on.

It was supposed to be like that in the original game, then a little German had to hack VALVe and make them start over on half life :(

It wasn't Axel that caused half-life 2 to be as it is today. Valve already started cutting and replacing the storyline by the time of the leak.
