DOOM:ONE is a new look on the classic first game DooM. Imagine, a game full of surprises, new secrets, and one continuous, fluid DooM. No loading screens, No waiting betweens levels... No breaks in the action. That is the aim of DOOM:ONE. I am working on a beta release version of the complete game. The 2nd version is available, which explains what I am trying to achieve here better than I ever could!!! I have found its best to play this with the Brutal Doom mod installed, however it is not required. This will be released as a PWAD that will work with GZDooM and Zandronum, due to the scripting involved in tying everything together. Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions below!
Wee bit of a pig to get right and working properly... however I have got rain, and reflective flooring working (to simulate the wet floors!)
Every day is a school day! (p.s. the rain is only really visible by viewing the picture in HD view!)
What are these reflections to the right of the shotgun and to the left of the barrel? Reflections caused by the marineĀ“s helmet glass?
That's the ceiling, sky and door reflected in the floor, I can vary the reflection density but this is still quite low on the scale!
This will probably look right in game, I just may have the wrong impression because it's a static screen.
It does make more sense in game, especially as the raindrops etc are a lot more prominent!
I've been tinkering with getting rain in maps before but not as good as this. Could you add different fogs and lighting like the ps one versions of doom? I got the fog working with different densities inside and out but it didn't look right. I put it on the back burner because I wasn't sure I could get it looking right with the limited time I had and I had other things I wanted to get done. The fog is the main thing I miss from the ps games.
There is a fog generator on Realm667 that I am going to tinker with for areas on a later episode, think it will fit nicely in parts of Shores and some of the other SFX will work REALLY wekk in Inferno!
