Been pretty busy with dead shift lately, that I thought that Id show how maps have improved since you guys have seen them last in previous updates,

The images are from maps that are basically finished now and I wanted to show how far they have come since a while back. You will recongise these areas possibly but should notice an increase of general detail and maybe even lighting improvements.

Dead shift is currently only being developed by myself, (duck354) but I may be looking for Beta testers in the upcoming months to see how well the levels flow and to make sure nothing is too confusing.

Im not looking for any new team members atm, but I may in the future.

On a side note, ill be removing all old outdated mod images in the coming weeks due to the fact they are no longer in-game and are part of a build of Dead Shift that was lost due to file loss.

Heres the new images to see anyways.

Some have majors changes some just have added detail.

Why do all these mods and expansions always have the characters ride some lift/ tram/ plane, and crash? Why not start the game just minding your own business on the far side of the compound, and suddenly coming across one of the aliens? It's just a question that's been bothering me, never mind.

maybe to add an introduction to the game?!

But can this not be done without having the hero ride some transport, and then crash? The original HL1, where you played as Gordon did that, did it not?

No, because I like it the way it is, and most people enjoy the tram introduction as I do myself. I'm not going to scrap it just because you have some weird issue with it. And not all mods have it like that. btw gordon doesnt have a tram crash, and as far as I know, i havent seen any mods with a tram crash introduction, let me do what I'm doing

Dude, you got it all wrong! I wasn't implying you should change your mod in any way, I was merely trying to get some understanding of why introductions in HL are always about riding something (and often crashing).
And you're right, there aren't any mods with the tram crashing (at least, not to either of our knowledge).

Yes I have. I know the tram doesn't crash, but that was beside the point. Anyway.

It's a rather silly question man, ask valve.... I'm just making a mod.. and the tram intro, is a famous way of introducing the player to the environment of the game. All halflife games have an introduction similar... and I'm trying to give it the same feels

The tram ride is an iconic scene in Half-Life, and it's used in most mods as a reference to the original one. Not to mention that it's a good way to introduce the player to the environment. Also, most of the facility's personnel used the Transit System to get to work. @Corbul, I understand your point, but it's a bit difficult to make a mod that has your character start somewhere in the middle of the facilities. The only instance I can think of that this would work is if your character works near the Employers' Apartments of Black Mesa, and he goes to his work by foot. Or you make a cutscene, which hovers through the facilities and stops at the point where the player currently works, but we all know that HL cutscenes don't look so good ;) .
