6 comments by Thyra3l on Aug 5th, 2012

Im recreating the item system. All items will be based on different itemtypes. Each itemtype holds the information about the basestats of an item like armor or min/max dmg. Further items can have several affixes that grants bonusses to attributes and skills. Each item will have an itemlevel. The itemlevel effects the affixes and basestats of an item.

Example of an item of itemlevel 1:

Same itemtype with itemlevel 13:

Stronger enemies with higher level have a higher chance to drop items with a high itemlevel.

Never stopped to be amazed by talented modders.

Theres a question that always flew through my mind.
You've changed the proper name of your hero(or unit name) ingame in your hero customization vid,here-
Moddb.com
Despite all the assurances I've read on Hiveworskhop and like fifty google pages, that it is impossible. How you've managed that?

Are you talking about me typing in my desired name? If so, that is not that difficult. If you watch the video again and focus the lower interface, you'll notice that no name is shown in the status frame. The selected unit itself(the hero controller) has no name. The entered string is stored in a variable und used when ever the name of the hero is required(i.e. display during the customization).

Thank you.To think that you even used just GUI or triggers or how it is called and not some complex thing-a-magic method.
Well, variables, strings,"stored within variable": thats a mystery for me,but I am sure many would be interested.
