Wizard Demo Map V1.0
Prospero 2005 -
TPTPT has done great work in providing a workable Wizard model.
The basic model internal name is 'Wizard_A'

In this map he has 5 skins which may be selected in the menu.

Wizard Kit

I have created a number of Wizard-specific objects:

Wizard Staff. ("ProStaff1")

This staff is the main source of the Wizards power. He must hold this staff to cast spells. His magic power can onlybe activated while holding the Staff. (Press M to activate/deactivate magic power). While in his 'Magic' phase he will gradually loose health points, so keep an eye on the scorer. A blue aura indicates whether his magic is active.

There are 9 spells at present. When he aquires a new spell, a symbol is placed under the scorer. To select a spell, select a number (1-9) on the Keyboard. The symbol of the selected spell will become more prominent and the light colour
of the Staff will change. (Shoot'emup players will be familiar with this system). While a spell is selected it will belaunched simply by pressing Attack. Most spells are ranged attacks so if an selected enemy is too close then normalmelee combat moves are used when attacking.
There are no big combos for the Staff, just the basic Attack + left/right/high/low and one special "Wiz Cross" (Att+ L/R).Also Dodge/Back attacks.

To use only melee attacks without leaving the Magic phase, Press Keyboard 0

* While Wiz is going though his powerup routine he will be invunerable to hits.*

Wizard Sword. ("WizardSword")

The Sword is the only weapon apart from the Staff that the Wizard can use with any skill. It has only the basic attack +Left/Right/High/Low but combos can be added (There are only 4 at time of writing). It also has a useful feature of glowing Red when enemies are near (thank you LOTR). There are things in the map that you have to find and activate to enable the combos.
* Hint. If in doubt, hit something.*

The magic combos will consume the Magic level and some will be impossible unless there is plenty in reserve. (As with Staffspells) Use them wisely to keep the Magic Level high. At a low level the Wiz is very vunerable.

Both the Staff and Sword always have the same power (2). The damage is keyed to the Wizard's Magic Level displayed in the new part of the scorer. The sword/staff damage is updated thoughout the course of the game according to the present Magic Level and Player Level. Magic power is accumulated by killing bad guys and also there are potions and special plantsto eat that will boost the Magic. Also there is a bonus on each levelup. As this is a demo map, you can get a full power up by ascending the tower and entering the energy sphere at the top. (Have faith! -you won't fall!). You do have to find the key first however..... It is up to the individual map designer to decide where and when any powerups are granted....

Wizard Bow ("WizBow1")

This bow works exactly the same as other bows, but is customised to the Wizards grip. As he is a non-RAS model his aiming veiwpoint is different. You may find it strange at first but it actually allows quite accurate aiming. (Sight on his eyebrowand adjust elevation).

Wizard Shield ("ProWizShield1")

This is a neat little shield. It will never break and will give any assailant a nasty jolt if hit.

Dragon Shield ("ProDragonShield1")

This was just an experiment to make a shield that would give protection against fire-breathing enemies. (Normal shields don't)It works OK up to a point. I hope to improve it later.

Drugged Arrows ("CarcajWizarddrug") ("FlechaWizarddrug")
I like these. Hit an enemy and he instantly comes around to your point of veiw.
(Some of the really bad guys are imune to them however....)

Big and Small Magic Potions ("ProMagicPot1") ("ProMagicPot2")

These work just like life potions except they give Magic Power rather than health.

The small ones (red) are used on the spot. The big ones can be carried.

There is also the Magic Fern ("ProFern1") that gives a small increase in magic when eaten. I hope to more a lot more magic
plants in future......

Wolf Herb ("ProWolfHerb1")
This is enormous fun. Eat one of these and transform into a Werewolf. In this state the wiz is very powerful and has a greatlyincreased resistance to damage. In addition to the basic attacks the Werewolf phase has a nice combo ("Backbreaker") Att+L/R
which will flatten nearly anything.Just so the WW does not have everything his own way, there are disadvantages:

You cannot hold weapons.

You cannot pick things up.

All inventory items are removed so no potions can be used and you can't eat things.

Keeping the Werewolf guise will gradually consume your Magic power and health.

There is a special Wolf Sword ("ProWolfSword") that has a silver tip. It carries a special damage ("Silver") Enemies armed withthis weapon will kill you very quickly if WW mode.
