Contra X work in progress - News Update 4

Welcome back to another Contra X news update.

This time we're going to talk about Nuke general.

After moving Nuke Tank Hunter to rank 3, Nuke general had obvious difficulties in reinforcing enough units for competent defense. Faster generals such as Cyber and Air Force could use that weakness and overpower him in many fights by simply having more units while GLA could easily take control of flanks and harass badly defended areas. Infantry out in the open could be easily hunted down or countered. However, we still support the concept of Nuke having strong offense and weak defense. This is why we decided to make a weaker version of Bunker. Introducing Watch Tower:

We are aware that Nuke Tank Hunters could be too powerful inside Watch Towers, we'll make sure this is not the case. Nuke has access to Red Arrows who can now be extra useful with tower shelter and become a threat to a group of cheeky helicopters.

A new interesting gameplay video by Marakar shows them off in-game. Check it out, the games are worth it not only for the new structure.

As you may have noticed from the video, that's a new map we've added to the official pool (Abandoned Farms by Mp3 & ReLaX). We're once again doing a wave of map revisions in order to have only balanced and interesting maps in the official map list. As more good new maps are being added, more bad maps will be removed.

Our particle effects artist is back from hiatus, so you may expect more progress on particles soon as well.
