As you can see, I haven't updated the mod in a while. It's not that I lost interest, but the latest versions of openRA have implemented .LUA changes witch would require me to completely rewrite the whole thing. As these versions don't bring anything new when it comes to single-player content creation (unit facing and unit hit-points settings in the map editor, unit cargo, etc) and still lacks save-game support, I will not update the mod until that critical feature is implemented.

I've been stalking the openRA GitHub development page for the last couple of years and I constantly pleaded with the people working on the engine to implement save-game support, but for reasons I cannot understand, they keep postponing the feature. I don't have the technical skills to help with such undertaking and as such have no right to demand everything from the openRA devs who like me are working on the engine in their spare time.

Because of this It's very possible I will be moving away from the openRA engine - if I find a 2D game engine that is as easy to program for.

Highlights:

Tiberian Origins lets you play as the original Red Alert (1) sides - allies and soviets - as well as the Tiberium Wars sides - GDI and NOD - in skirmish, multiplayer and singleplayer campaigns.

All four sides include their original units and structures, plus a few new ones (for campaign and multiplayer balancing).

Story:

The campaign will contain several missions for all factions, with Allied / GDI missions bundled together, and individual NOD and Soviet missions. It will tell the story of how tiberium arrived in earth and how it was discovered, it's weaponization, and how it later threaten the planet's population.

The Allied campaign shows the creation of Spec. Ops 9 witch later becomes the Global Defence Initiative, and it's fight against NOD terrorists.

The Soviet campaign revolves around the fall of the URSS - featuring several ex-soviet states struggle to remove what's left of the old regime, and their fight for independence.

The NOD campaign entails the Rise of the Brotherhood, as Kane manages to rally some of the ex-URSS states to fight for his ideals.

Please post in the downloads section under the version you are testing, describing as much of the bug as possible: side you played, units you built, opponet sides, and a crashlog (what OpenRA displays in exception.log when the crash occured). You can find exception.log by pressing the View Log button in the OpenRA crash window.

aawwww, good mod, too bad it is abandoned. really wanted to have something like Dawn of Tiberium Age on OpenRA engine - it would be so much more pleasant to play.

No save/load functionality didn't stop Mental Omega. Maybe try thinking of shorter missions with fewer chances to make irreversible mistakes requiring a restart.

Really looking forward to the campaign as you described it, especially the idea of intermediate factions between the RA and Tib Dawn ones.

So is there an actual story or just mixing the factions of 2 games? Because the soviets and the allies were already gone by the time GDI and Nod came around.

There is a story and a campaign mission planned. The reason I haven't realesed any campaign missions yet is because the openRA engine still lacks a save/load game feature, making most of them really hard to complete.

The action takes place between 1952 and 1998 and follows the fall of the soviet empire, the rise of the Brotherhood of NOD and the arrival of Tiberium on Earth.

My mod will to bridge the events of Red Alert and Tiberian Dawn.

SoG9 is GDI before it's official designation in 1995. Nod's early actions will be represented by a 6th faction.

SPOILER: The first nod missions will show how the Brotherhood obtains military power and political influence in East Europe, as they prepare for the arrival of Tiberium on Earth.

During the campaign the player will experience the shift from Red Alert technology (units and buildings) to Tiberian Dawn tech. During the Allied campaign, you get to play 3 factions: Allies (1952-1959), SOG9 (1959-1995) and finally GDI (1995-1998).

New units and buildings fill the gap between the two major time periods, like SoG9's T30 and M103 Heavy tanks.

Hmmmm... I recommend you NOT to make an storyline cuz there is already an mod that is 100 better than this one called Dawn of Tiberian Age and is active and NOT DEAD! You could make an one if you want, it is your choice after all, this mod is for OpenRA while DTA is for Tib. Sun.
