Did you put it in the Steamapps Common folder? Did you unzip It?

You need to have HALF-LIFE installed on your STEAM (original half-life, no half-life:source or Half-life2). Run it at least one time. Install BraveBrain v1.1 to your STEAM/steamapps/common/Half-life directory and restart STEAM.

Hello there o/. Im Miro Sklenar, the original author of this mod. its been almost 11 years since i released this mod. Now a "little bit" older im just amazed how popular this mod is :). Thanks to everyone who downloaded this mod from now non-existing site (bravebrain.szm.sk) and re-uploaded it here. Thanks again :) Yea i know, ver 1.0 is full of bugs that prevents the competition of the game. Sad thing is that my CD with all the hammer editor maps is scratched as hell, so the only solution how to "repair" this mod was by the "reverse engineering".. Than means convert bsp to map/rmf with application "winbspc". Those who know what it means know what pain in the a** this process is. Well but the main thing is, i repaired two levels by this process (unmovable barrels in flooded conveyor map and invisible wall in XEN durring freeman-gman conversation) so feel free to download Brave Brain ver 1.1 from this site, fully compatible with STEAM ;)....I´m Back baby :)

7/10. I forgot to mention this in my review but the mod glitched out on me twice. I had to noclip past two parts due to the progression bugging out. The first part was when I had to push a barrel to get up to a ventilation shaft. The barrel wouldn't move and I had to noclip past the little puzzle. The second and final part where I had to noclip was the one part where I had to let a Barney out of a crate and have him open a door for me. I couldn't find a way to open the gate that would lead both him and me to the door. So I had to noclip there too. This mod really needed fixes and patches overall.

Every mod has its level design leave a flavor particular to its designers tastes. This one is alot like valve's Black Mesa, theres even 2 areas where you get to revisit. The beginning was a little on the hard side as you had to deal with aliens with a axe. And it stays that way for a little while before you finally find a ammo room which makes alot of sense to me. Most mods give you guns straight away with the crowbar and I've never thought that realistic, weapons and ammo should be in storage or…

Incredibly lame storyline, quirky and mostly awful mapping and gameplay tactics, and hilariously bad voice acting to boot. There is still some fun to be had here however, but with many of it's cons, it outweighs the pros. Avoid this one if you can.

A four.
