Originally, we planned to claim the outer space for ourselves. Unrestrained use of every resource and infinite room for all human beings. But then, things did not turn out the way they should have. Nowadays, it seems our planet is the one to be conquered. Earth is in a state of emergency. The human race has been shrunk to a few hundred thousand. Our world is nearly completely destroyed. The area of the Black Sectors is spreading. Nobody knows from where the Wraith came. We know only one thing: They are damned deadly and frigging furious. But today – on July 6th, 2023 – the day has come for mankind to strike back. United Alliance’s government – formed by the heads of states of USA, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, China, Japan and Russia – decided to send the UASC, the United Alliance Special Corps, into the conflict areas to reclaim human habitat. The Wraith are dominating roughly 70% of world’s surface. In the meantime, men fortified in the biggest remaining megacities like London, New York and Tokyo – cut off from the environment, an enclave of fear, strongholds in the manner of forgotten times. Just to prevent human kind‘s last bastion from being annihilated. Play either as a soldier of the UASC in several classes (like Heavy Gunner, Warrior, Light Infantry or Sniper) or get control of the mysterious, unknown Wraith. Battle worldwide in the infested Black Sectors for global dominance. No compromises, no mercy.

POST MORTEM 2009
At the end of the year:
For the BLACKSECTOR Development Team it has been a good year. We pushed our project pretty much forward in different ways. But there are also some things we can't be happy with. All in all we created a lot of concepts, models and maps, talked about the game mechanics, created the class system, work a lot for a balanced game document, but we are not as far as we would have expected with our playtest version of BLACKSECTOR. The most important part for me as Project Leader and Art Director was to show you guys the very first ingame footage. We recorded some preview teasers, composed some great audio tracks for this TC Mod and we got a hell of a lot of feedback from the community. Very positive feedback.
Fear the future:
So what's coming next in 2010? Well, we can't really say. All i can tell you is that we keep continuing to work as much as possible to complete our dark futuristic vision of a future war. We are planing to release an intern alpha version to balance the gameplay and test some more models. Some of our team members found a real life job in the game industry during our development, so it's still pretty hard for us to communicate and manage our development.
So for now it is time for me to thank all of you for supporting and commenting on our project, for tracking us all over the year and give us the endurance and emotion to keep creating this awesome project. I like the mod, but all this seems to be is a wallpaper supplier, not a mod.

This mod needs to be published into a full game. This is professional quality work. Good Job.
Thank you, guys. We are working on this as a free Total Conversion Mod for Half-Life². Maybe there are already plans to go standalone afterwards. But focusing on the very first release of BLACKSECTOR is most important now.

aaaand tracking. It's looking great, keep it up! The one thing that really stands out for me thus far is your character models, they have a bit more 'beef', if you know what I mean. Too often character models seem a little too scrawny.
